The Fresh Market

When the VB store opened a few years ago, I went once and I was not impressed, so I’ve never been motivated to visit this store. Because the Norfolk store is convenient to my house, I stopped in yesterday and I was blown away! The store is much larger and has a great deli & bakery, plus huge selection of specialty items imported from Europe that you cannot find anywhere else. The store is very clean and well organized. This is not the store to do a full grocery shopping at, but it is definitely the place to go for high quality specialty items and desserts. I will absolutely be back!

We love Sandra!!! She was so polite and patient with our forty questions about grinding the bulk coffee and helped us figure out how to exchange it when we realized we’d gotten the wrong one. The staff here is always so friendly and helpful, the produce is always top notch, and there are so many specialty goods that we can only find here. But the staff is the real highlight of Fresh Market, especially Sandra.

The Fresh Market is my favorite grocery store chain. If they sold has, I wouldn't need 7-ELEVEn. Coffee is nice, salads are terrific, sandwiches are sublime. I only wish they offered singles of bread.

I love this Fresh market. They have the best fresh pressed citrus juices I’ve tasted in all of VA. The only thing is why do they put raisins in carrot cake? Honestly that should be illegal. Paid $7 for a slice of cake only for it to be ruined with awful raisins.

Absolutely the best grocery store experience I've had next to Wegmans in Maryland. In fact, The Fresh Market has them beat on elegance and overall genuine quality of customer service and store atmosphere. The store decor unlike any I've seen in a grocery. The store set up and merchandise displayed has an everyday is a holiday feel. The atmosphere is such that not only are the store associates super accommodating but so are the customers towards one another, at least while they're in The Fresh Market! This is how we all should live and conduct ourselves and business.

Literally this place is for white people's. I am so sorry to say that but I had to say it and by the way I'm white. I have seen and witness some really racist brutal situations at the fresh market. When black people's arrive they stairs them down and make them look so uncomfortable. They also follow majority all black around in stores because I witness this one time when my family came in and we are a mix family. They keep looking at my son in law and following him because he was black. We had plenty of money we were trying to spend at this store. But the vibe we got from this store we just left. Never spend your money where it's unwanted no matter what. The butcher in the back is not friendly at all. He cheat certain people's out of lbs of whatever they are buying. Cashiers has attitudes especially the whites ones. I will be contacting corporate and reach out to y'all 1800 number because how y'all running them stores not right

Sandra was so polite, professional and informative. From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed, she was awesome. Nadi was amazing at the checkout, friendly and helpful. Great experience all around. It’s refreshing to encounter staff who care and create a positive atmosphere.
