Royal Bazaar Indian Asian Market

I am writing this review to warn other customers after a truly distressing and disappointing experience at Royal Bazaar. On June 29, 2025, I purchased food from this store (see attached photos, video, and receipt as proof). To my shock, when I opened it at home, the food was contaminated with visible fungus — despite the printed expiry date showing that it should have been good for another 1 year 6 months! When I contacted the shopkeeper about this serious issue, I was met with complete rudeness and no sense of responsibility. His exact words were: "It is a common problem — what should I do? If you want, come back and take another item." "This happens even in India — what should I do? If you want, come. Otherwise, no." I felt humiliated and deeply concerned for the safety of other customers. If they are selling items in this condition — and with expiry dates that don’t reflect reality — how can anyone trust what they are buying? Please, for your own health and safety, avoid this store. No one should have to go through what I did.

Good Indian store. Lots of variety. Prices seemed a little high to me.

We have been shopping here every week for half a year and love it. We mainly cook Indian food and you can get all the ingredients here, including produce such as Indian eggplant, bitter melon and fresh curry leaves. People are friendly and helpful and there is always parking.

A surprisingly specialized grocery store. When you first see the produce department you will be amazed. They have very fresh, high-quality produce from all over. Their shelves are packed with staples like grains and beans and spices and sweets. If you want Indian foodstuffs, this is where you must go!

Best place to buy Indian grocery and vegetables in Norfolk. Layouts are nice and grocery is displayed nicely. They have fresh vegetables and are priced fairly. Staff is also very helpful. We did lots of shopping of Indian grocery when my son's family moved to Norfolk. A must visit for every Indian for their food necessities !!

Royal Bazaar Indian Asian foods store is located on 414 N Military Highway Norfolk Va 23502 . You can buy Indian,Asian foods which include,Tea, Indian sweets, Fresh vegetables,ice cream, Frozen snacks,Frozen vegetables,Indian jaggery , all kinds Indian flour, Indian lentils, big variety of Indian spices,Indian cosmetics, Naan and lots of other grocery items which all communities use in their daily life. If someone wants to taste Indian flavor spices and sweets best place to buy. Store is open seven days a week. This store got frozen Different kind Naan , meats also.

The varieties of tea (as a self made connoisseur) was the most appealing to me. Indian/Asian foods usually come withrobuat aromas. I say that to advise that nowhere in this place would you need to ask where an item is... Let your nose guide you. May sound corny but the lighting in here is great too. 🤷🏾‍♂️. Love that spice aisle too!!
