G Mart Lynnwood

Couldn’t help myself! I wanted to make Eggs Benedict and I was counting the days for HBHC to open for the holiday season. They sell 1# packages of sliced ham, perfect for those of us who cook for one.

GMart is mainly a Korean grocer with its shelves stocked with all sorts of Korean-made and branded products. I was mildly disappointed not to find the Asian ingredient I wanted to buy (common at Uwajimaya, 99Ranch and Hi-mart) but marveled at all the other stuff I had never seen in other stores. I spent time browsing and exploring all the aisles. I love their selection of earthen pots and will be back to start purchasing as soon as I clear space in my kitchen =)

They have poor quality meat. I bought one that was red on top but the bottom was rotting away due to lack of knowledge of meat handlers, who are paid low wages and do not have training in storing meat at correct and handling meat. You have been warned!

I prefer G Mart in Lynnwood over H Mart. It’s almost always cheaper, especially for basics, without the temptation of impulse buys. The store feels cleaner, less crowded, and their products seem fresher—no expired items slipped in like you sometimes find elsewhere. It doesn’t have the huge selection of specialty imports that H Mart offers, but if you’re looking for simplicity and value, G Mart consistently delivers.

First impression. The floors are dirty and caused me to wonder about the rest of the store. In the produce section, I wanted to buy apples and lemons. The apples were all very old and the skins were wrinkled. I passed on buying any apples. I already have old apples at home. There were no lemons...nor limes. Only a few oranges...probably old, as well. The rest of the produce department demonstrated a lack of being well-managed. Strike three. I left. " One never gets a second chance to make a great first impression.

Nice little Asian grocery store. Less selection than H mart, but less busy than H mart. Had a meal at one of the places inside.

Fantastic selection of meats and produce at a great price! They have tons of snacks to try that you can’t get anywhere else. Lots of parking too!
