I came to this H-E-B on Gulf Fwy in League City last year. I rang up my shopping cart at the self serve. I ran into an issue with a coupon and I had to ring everything again. At the end, I told the attendant that it didn't take my coupon after I already paid. He said the coupons were part of the purchase price. I had to go to another H-E-B store to see how the receipt says. Yeah. He lied. If the coupons were used, it would have shown on the receipt. Ugh. Not coming back again.
If it's not curbside it's something with the food. Pretty disgusting - large clumps in my HEB chips! Let it go, continued shopping here. Just came to pick up my curbside checked in at 9:30, says curbside does not close until 10 PM. Check in on the app, put spot number, sit in my car for a while. Nobody ever brings my stuff out. Go inside ask for assistance and I'm told sorry they left and the Manager doesn't know how to work the new Curbside System so you can't get your food come try again tomorrow. Ridiculous!
Elena, who was bagging my groceries, was incredibly kind and thoughtful. She offered to walk me to my car since it was evening and I had my baby with me. When I realized I had left a bag behind, she actually ran it out to my car and even took my cart in for me. She truly went above and beyond and made my day. I hope she is recognized for her outstanding service. The cashier, Michelle P., was also very sweet and kind. Thank you, Elena!
I recently shopped at H-E-B and was thoroughly impressed. The store was clean and well-organized, making it easy to find everything on my list. The selection was extensive, featuring a wide variety of fresh produce, quality meats, and specialty items. Prices were competitive, offering great value for money. The staff was friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. Checkout was efficient, with multiple lanes open to minimize wait time. Overall, my shopping experience at H-E-B was outstanding, combining excellent customer service with a diverse and well-priced product range. I’ll definitely be returning.💝💕💖
I've been shopping at this HEB for over twenty years and in recent years it's only gone downhill. First they stopped carrying the HEB organics cheese blocks, then the quality of their produce went down and so often the peaches, avocado, papayas, or soursops which are $10/lb are actually rotten inside. Then last week when I overpacked two paper bags and took a couple of extra ones, the assistant manager literally walked over and took them out of my shopping cart! When I went back to ask him what is up with that when 9/10 times I use my own reusable bags and their cashier's always bag one item per plastic bags for people he told me that " other customers are unhappy when we place more than one item per plastic bag". I asked him if the other customers matter more than me and he told me that they have a budget for bags. So I asked again if that budget covers their cashier's bagging an item per bag for 100s of items in a shopping cart but somehow I can't take a couple of extra paper bags when I have stuffed my other two bags to the rim, he said that if I wanted to bag one item per paper bag there's nothing they can do to stop me. I asked why then I don't get a discount when I bring my reusable shopping bags and he said that I can scan some newly added QR code on the self checkout and be entered for a chance to win a a gift card at the end of September. Today I decided to scan said QR code. It's a VERY basic Microsoft form that doesn't even have the HEB logo and only asks for your phone number. Nothing else! Toy don't even get a text confirmation of your entry! The sign says that you get 2 entries if you bring your own bag and 1 if you but a reusable bag now. I asked the cashier what's up with the form and how it worked and he told me doesn't know. I asked for a manager to come who also didn't know! She said that you just enter your phone number and that's it. I asked how will it know to give me 2 entries instead of 1? She said it's on the honor system .... No comment. Instead of getting with the times and trying to protect the environment and 1) charging customers who use plastic bags 2) actually having a meaningful system that encouraged customers to bring reusable bags, HEB is just doing lame raffles that can be easily manipulated!! So we gotta have an account to use the coupons in the app, but you guys can't figure out how to use the receipts and the app accounts to give people rewards for trying to protect our environment?!
This HEB does a good job supplying shelves with fresh foods and produce, the staff is nice and checkouts are usually adequate. However, the store itself is not sufficient for the number of people shopping for groceries in this area. At this location HEB desperately needs a larger store and and a more appropriate parking lot. The aisles are way are too narrow and poorly lit. Carts can’t get around each other and the enormous personal shopper racks are always present to maneuver around. The layout of the store is jumbled and unsystematic. (Frozen items should be near the checkout so they wont melt while waiting at the checkout, or maneuvering the parking lot and on the way home.) The parking lot itself is almost always full and customers have a hard time finding a place to park. The lot has a whole row of curbside pickup, usually none being occupied at any one time. The whole parking area is confusing with multiple stop signs and with cars weaving around without stopping. Over all, it is an unpleasant shopping experience and I can hardly wait to get out of there.
We're big fans of H-E-B and do our grocery shopping there every week. My husband recently ordered custom flowers for me from their floral department, but unfortunately, the quality wasn't great. I wouldn't recommend customizing flowers here. That said, I still love H-E-B overall.
