Great service and great food! Followed all protocol for covid. I go there for the yuk gae Jang and beef Kalbi. I love the traditional style soup. If you guys like traditional and comfort like soup definitely try yuk gae Jang. Perfect seasoning. Lots of veggies and meat. Broth is always on point I love the beef Kalbi as well. Super rich and delicious. Not too sweet and savory and just the right amount of meat. I know most beef Kalbi is sweet in general. But some places just cake it with sugar. If you like it to be in the middle. Try getting some here. She is Very attentive to our needs ans making sure we got enough napkins and water at our disposal. Short waiting time as you can go in and get a table. Typically takes around 10-15 minutes for our food to be ready. Considered fast for any Korean cooking in my opinion. Clean and very well organized place. Try it out if you guys are in the Layton area.
Nice mom and pop restaurant/market. Everything is very homey. Very generous with giving 3 kinds of kimchi (cucumber, napa, and radish) with my kimchi jigae. The food itself is okay; haven't tried their other dishes but at least they are generous with their portions! It's nice to have something hot and a little spicy during a cold snowy day though. I bought a lot of things from the market too (there's some specialty ingredients like potato starch noodles, gochujang, fish sauce, coconut milk, and miso). Note: if you use a credit card they charge a small non-cash fee. I think it's around 3.5%. Overall, the market is a bit expensive, but I understand because there's not a lot of options to get those specialty products around here.
First time here and it was pretty bad I hate to say. This had to be the very first restaurant where I was served a soup spoon directly on the table. No napkin or anything. Pupusa’s were good, but I highly recommend the Salvadorean Cafe in Syracuse if your looking for some great pupusa’s. We also ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice and Shrimp Fried Rice which was pretty soggy and over cooked. My husband just ate the shrimp, lol. I wouldn’t come back here again, but I’m glad I got to try it out. 🙌🏼
Authentic Korean, fast service, great tasting food and a Korean market attached where you can buy lots of spices and ingredients to make your own dishes. If you are looking for great tasting Korean food, check this place out.
Wow what a Gem! Got some good finds! Come check them out... BTW the food smelled delish! Perfect food to feed my Circus. Next time we eat! Lol
I'm giving this place 3 stars because I am Korean and the food that they serve at this restaurant is not Korean. They apparently had Korean owners before but do not now. I ordered a yookaejang soup and tokbokgi. The yookaejang soup I got had mushrooms, bean sprouts, carrots, chunks of meat, and a bunch other things that do not belong in that soup. Seriously? Bean sprouts in yookaejang??? Word of advice to the new owners, if the previous owners taught you how to cook Korean food then don't change the recipe!!! Don't me wrong, the soup didn't taste bad it just wasn't the Korean yookaejang soup I ordered. The new owners should call this place Asian fusion and not Korean because what they are serving is NOT Korean food. The place is clean. People are nice. It's just not Korean food so if you're looking for Korean food don't come here because it's NOT Korean food.
I’m from NY where Korean food is very genuine. I’m on a mission to look for the best Korean market, take out, and restaurants. I drove over 25 min to check this place out and was not pleased. Kimchi was so old looking and I ordered some take out and very disappointed in the taste. Where did you make your kimchi? Your store name doesn’t do justice when you have "Kimchi" and it taste like blanched cabbage with pepper flakes. There’s no deep taste of all the spices and flavor of a true Korean Kimchi…. And the styrofoam?!?! So behind in environment friendly package and you really put this in my bag without security? I got a bag of kimchi soup
