This store is a wonderful place not only to shop for quality groceries, but also to enjoy a fresh and healthy meal on the go. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is always kind, attentive, and ready to help. A perfect spot for both everyday shopping and a quick, wholesome bite.

The grocery store was immaculate, with every shelf perfectly organized. Antonio, the bagger, always greets us with a smile and is eager to assist. The only downside was the removal of the bakery seating area, but it didn’t detract from an otherwise pleasant visit.

Gelson’s is a market that sells your regular grocers with a heightened price, but also sells gourmet goods. But with the price comes with quality as well, and I notice that all the products are treated with a lot of care. They’ve got a deli and a salad bar. Even though the market is compact, the shopping experience here is easier. Most employees here are very nice.

I shop at this Gelson’s every couple of weeks and usually have a good experience. The cashiers are generally friendly and the store is clean, which is why this was so disappointing. During my last visit, I waited over 10 minutes to use the restroom. One bathroom was being cleaned, which is understandable, but the other was occupied for an extended period of time. You could hear someone inside using paper towels continuously, and multiple people were waiting. I knocked several times and informed staff, but no one seemed willing to intervene or help manage the situation. When I finally asked security for assistance, there was confusion and a lack of understanding about the fact that the second bathroom key was with the cleaning staff and not available. I had to repeat myself multiple times and was ultimately left without any solution after waiting well over 10 minutes. I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect basic communication and support when facilities aren’t accessible. This could have been handled much more professionally.

Update: 8/26/25: Waited for over 10 minutes in line just to buy two bananas. Absolute mess. Only 4 registers open and about 50 people trying to check out. 🤦🏼‍♂️ The lettuce at the salad bar is transparent….its completely wet and wilted and looks like it was pulled from a dumpster. I then went over to get a slice of pizza…they didn’t have any pepperoni left so I politely asked when they will be making some more…the guy rudely barked "not right now!" Entertained at his reaction…I asked..but when. He then barked "at least an hour." This place continues to amuse me with their rude behavior and poor quality control. The last two packs of fruit I purchased had a spoiled item in the container. I’ll continue to give most of my business to other grocery stores in the area. Yet another update to this horribly run place: Went to get one of their extremely overly priced and undersized pieces of pizza…not only did they not have any at 1:00pm but when I asked they said they wouldn’t even start making any more for at least another 30 minutes. I’m officially done with this grocery store. What an insult to business…I’m going elsewhere even when I live right next door. Horrible management, horrible prices…horrible food. Another edit: consistently the worst upkeep of a salad bar. The lettuce is beyond disgusting and wilted. It’s clear they put unacceptable lettuce out and then leave it all day. Do not get food poisoning by eating their salad bar. It’s a sad upkeep. Edit: the other complaint I have is that they aren’t consistent at all. Some days the salad bar is well kept and fresh…others it’s a mess and wilted lettuce. Some days they do a hot bar…others are a guess. Holy cow do they markup. The EXACT same golden kiwis can be found at another grocery store down the road for $5.99 compared to here at $7.99. Exact same. 33% markup compared to elsewhere.

Bought Stirrings Simple Mojito Mix at Gelson’s Franklin Ave on Aug 31, 2025 — it was expired. Called the store, but staff didn’t even ask which product was expired. The very next day, I bought the same item again through Instacart also expired. Extremely disappointing for a store that claims to offer high quality.

Great location and convenience at a high cost. Groceries and product brands sold are of great quality. The gelson's brand products seem to offer the best value. The bar and restaurants inside are hidden gems. Especially the bar 👌 🍻
