So glad we now have an Indian grocery store in Hammond! Herbs of India is a fantastic addition to the area. The owner is super friendly, humble, and patiently answered all the questions I had. The store is clean, well-organized, and the prices are very reasonable. It’s in a convenient location. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!

The lady was really nice and helpful! She suggested to buy pre-fried pani puri instead non-fried one and jar coriander chutney instead of powdered one. She also suggested to give Samosas a try, I can’t wait to try it! It’s a small store with many interesting products and reasonable prices. I didn’t realize there’s Indian grocery this close, THANK YOU!

Me and my friends got butter chicken with the naan and it was delicious. The lady who helped us was so nice and funny and even gave us a samosa to try. Store also had lots of cool products and i will be back to get hair oil. 🙂

This shop has everything you need to make your own home cooked Indian meal! The owner is extremely helpful and guides you through different ways to use the dry ingredients and their premade/prepackaged items. They have a produce section with a variety of fruits and vegetables that are difficult to find anywhere else. Go in with a recipe/meal in mind or grab a variety of items to try! Hammond is so lucky to have this store!

Loved this place, wish I'd found out about it a while back. My partner and I both love Indian food but don't often get a chance to go to the one other restaurant across town that has it. Very good selection, especially for bulk spices, nuts, jaggery, rice, etcetera, as well as plenty of meal kits and a good amount of yoghurt, ghee and butter. They also sell hot plates and serve some of the best butter chicken I've had in my life. The owner (Raj, I think?) and his wife were friendly and hospitable, and gave us rice pudding with our hot plates. If I could give this place ten stars, I would. I would definitely recommend, and will definitely be going back.

I ordered catering trays of butter chicken, rice and samosas for my christmas party and the food was absolutely amazing and fresh! Everyone was obsessed and raved about it all night ❤️ can’t wait to order from here again!
