Whole Foods Market has a rating of 4.2 out of 5 based on over 1563 reviews on Google
This is one of the larger and newer Whole Foods in the East Bay and it’s very good. They don’t have quite as many restaurants inside as some of the bigger ones, but there’s pizza and a deli, and a bakery. Like all Whole Foods, the produce in particular is outstanding, albeit a little bit pricey. One of the things I like about Whole Foods is their meats are labeled in terms of how they were raised so you can be sure to get meat, which has been responsible and ethically raised
We ordered ahead of time for the holiday. We paid ahead of time -- we did everything we needed to do. They pulled food off the shelves. They charged me $24 for a $16 peacon pie (at least that is what the label said on the carton!). We ordered the holiday Bourbon chocolate peacon pie. I spent over $200 to bring sides to my family because i had to work all day -- "Sorry! It was crazy on the floor today." Really?! Pulling food off the shelf was difficult??! I could have shopped for what I wanted and at least got my order right. Let me also say, the gentleman that was also pulling food for other orders, "You're in the way!" Never again!!!
We inspected the Whole Foods on Gilman in July 2025 while scouting for places to relocate to. We learned from living in Denver and shopping at the Whole Foods in Westminster to access a better meat department that Amazon is really sucking the brand quality out of most Whole Foods. This is what’s happening at the Gilman location. We’ve watched the deli department totally decline. Yesterday I asked for 8 oz of sliced prosciutto and I was asked "thick or thin". People are getting thick prosciutto? The guy waited on me after talking to a Whole Foods personal shopper for ~ 6 mins as everyone watched on behind the counter as if only this 1 guy was there for direct customer service. I spoke to my spouse while he sliced the prosciutto. When he handed it to me it was all piled as one big lump together with one sheet of deli paper around it. I gave it back and said no thank you. He asked why. I explained that when prosciutto is piled together in a lump it sticks together and can’t be separated and I refused to take it. His boss was watching and he was there when the guy sliced the meat and he was mad I wouldn’t take it. This Whole Foods is so terrible now they just expect people to deal with this. The store in general is super crowded with Whole Foods staff using black table carts doing order fulfillment. They aren’t available for customer support but they do block customer access, especially in the narrow produce department. At the meat department on December 29 (yesterday) very little was stocked and there wasn’t much to choose from though they did have a lot of pre-seasoned chicken, rather than the whole fresh organic chicken legs, pork, and wider selection of red meat this location use to carry.
The only Whole Foods in town. Great selection of alcohol, hot food, fruits, herbal supplements, and all the goodies one would expect from an average Whole Foods. Free parking and security. It's a really nice place. Clean. This store accepts Amazon returns.
Convenient location and the store is clean well lit, and stocked well. The parking lot is a challenge. People in this area are in need of a driving class on parking. Cars are parked skewed in the slots or take up two slots, not sure what is going on....its like everyone forgot how to drive. (Or they are so desperate for their organic kale fix, they can't afford the time to park correctly.) 😉
Excellent......This is the place to shop when you just want top rated healthy food. Do you pay a little more? Sure. Do I think it’s worth the extra? Absolutely. Put a price on your health and get back to me.
I appreciate whole foods markets because they usually have whatever I'm looking for I'm a big fan of the three trees plant-based milk specifically the pistachio and the black sesame which for some reason you guys have not had for a while. Would like to know if you still carry the black sesame as I can appreciate the flavor especially in my coffee.
