N&H Market

I live a block away and frequent the store daily so I'm hesitant to take on a serious review. It's a neighborhood store and conveniently located. In fact the convenience is it's greatest asset. That and the owner/ operators friendly demeanor and familiarity with the regular customers. Regular customers being about the only kind they have. The mark up, the prices of the merchandise, are enough to cause a double take even among people that frequent convenience stores. A saving grace is the quality of the service. The owners are helpful in the extreme. Cashing checks, sending money, cash back and ATM, money orders, getting rent payments into the necessary format required by various landlords in the area, they help you with knowledge and experience. Cold beer and soft drinks, a well stocked meat counter, lottery and tobacco products, a small produce section, in a crowded space. Parking is easy in the lot or front or side and 4 or 5 evenings a week a taco truck is parked outside. It has a sidewalk table, and the wait is short for your order. In my opinion the quesadilla is it's best offering. Large and very tasty. The rest of the menu I find mediocre at best. Not to be outdone by the store the prices are the highest I've seen in the area. Burritos, plates, quesadillas, hamburger, torta, all 12 dollars each. The only thing close to worth the price is, again, the quesadilla. The store was formerly called N&H Market and there was even an N&H 2 about a mile away. This place is now called 5 Star Market and 2 is closed and boarded up. The place is surprisingly busy considering the prices but it's rarely slow. If you're not from the neighborhood I wouldn't go out of my way, but us natives appreciate it.

It was okay but I like 5 star better because they treat you like family they call me boss lady lol covit safe and they have fresh meet

Quick and easy shopping... I don't know anymore after the way they treated me today.. I've spent so much money in the last 10 years at this store only to have them treat me like some crack head.

Good friendly people used to go there as a kid looks a lot better now and cleaner
