The Westford office of AP Derm is very poorly managed. The practitioners I've seen there have been excellent, but the practice operation is lacking. When you call to make an appointment you're told you can easily make one on Patient Gateway. I tried this but simply got a call (which I missed) with instructions to call to make an appointment. I tried going through Patient Gateway again, saying I'd take any day or time in a certain 1 month period but only got a call (which I missed) again. So I had to call, wait on hold (for at least 5 minutes) then finally got my annual skin check booked. I called this past Monday to make an appointment to have a minor skin issue addressed. Once I finally got through to a live person I was told I had to make this appointment with a different group. I got put on hold and tried to wait it out to reach a live agent. After 10 minutes on hold I finally gave up and chose the option to leave a message. This was on Monday morning. Today is Thursday. I still haven't received a call back. My guess is this practice wants to focus on cosmetic issues as it falls outside of insurance and is likely quite lucrative. So people who have medical dermatology issues are...lower priority. I have left this practice and found a new provider. Oh, and they answered their phone right away. Ahhhh.....
All of the staff are very professional and friendly. Dr Rowe was very thorough with his exam, I did not feel rushed. There was no wait time, the office is very well organized
The whole appointment was a positive experience. From the easy, friendly check-in, to the punctual appointment (we were taken 5 min early), to the empathetic and open approach taken by Dr. Yang, everything went smoothly and easily.
Olivia and Dr. K were simply awesome. Both made me feel as if I have been a patient for years and it was my first visit. Could not be happier with both of them.
Back in October 2024, my wife and I adopted two young male cats; turned out one of them had just gotten over a ringworm infestation, and was still carrying it. The other male got it, then one of our older females. It took about two months to rid them of it. Meantime, around mid-November, I developed a suspicious-looking small infestation on my left wrist – and it looked a lot like the ringworm the cats had. I use APDerm as my usual provider, but I couldn’t get an appointment with my usual doctor (Katalin Kovalszki); on 4 December I was given an appointment with Dr. Brandon Rowe at the Westford office. I told the intake nurse the background story of the cats and the ringworm and all… and then Dr. Rowe cam in and spent maybe 15 seconds with me. He took one look through a magnifier and stated flatly that I had Eczema, not Ringworm. No biopsy, no scraping sample…. 15 seconds of visual observation, and that was that. He prescribed a cortical steroid ointment, and sent me on my way. The ointment not only did not work, the problem got worse. The infestation grew a little larger and started to migrate more toward the inside of my wrist. It also got bumpier and flakier. I kept trying the steroid cream, but also tried a few other things, and nothing had any effect. I finally made another appointment, at the Baker Ave office in Concord, with Dr. Shelley Yang. Her intake nurse took much better notes, and Dr. Yang spent several minutes with me, examining the afflicted area much more closely. I emphasized to her the timing of the cats’ ringworm infestation and the appearance of this growth on my wrist. But she also firmly believed it was not ringworm, and she said she didn’t think a biopsy was necessary, that we could treat it with a stronger steroid. I sort of insisted, and so she took a small skin biopsy, AND prescribed the stronger steroid, which she had already stated would be counter-productive if it was ringworm. But she was very confident it wasn’t, so she said to start the steroid right away. That was a week ago. The problem has gotten even worse since then, and I got a note from Dr. Yang today with the biopsy results – and guess what? Yup… RINGWORM!! Immediately stop the steroid, and switch to Lotrimin Ultra, an OTC medication. This whole display of incompetence and lack of taking me seriously (especially Dr. Rowe) has made me unwilling to trust my skin health to APDerm, and I will be looking for another provider this coming year for my annual skin check.
This was a 6 month follow appointment after Moh’s surgery. The doctor gave me a very thorough check and found a couple of minor areas that needed attention and she took care of those areas. My appointment was right on it was explained to me exactly what the doctor was going to do. The doctor was outstanding and I would recommend ADP to anyone with skin issues.
Dr. Solky is amazing! He has given my daughter the best care, and he always goes above and beyond to make a difference.
