Customer Reviews
Affiliated Dermatology Tempe has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on over 351 reviews on Google
Absolutely poor bedside manner. Poor time management with patients. They had us in the waiting room for 40 minutes by past our appointment . Asked for $60 dollars before we were seen. When we finally went back to the room , we were in there for maybe four minutes for the doctor to speak to us like we were an inconvenience of our child’s hair follicle cyst. "It’s not a big deal", and annoyed we were even asking questions. Not worth the $60 that went down the drain to see this doctor. Spoke to us as if it’s nothing and why are we wasting his time (we got referred). Not worth the time and money going here. Go somewhere else.
How can you write a review when you can’t get past them calling you back? I had a referral from my doctor and still have not gotten a call back. I called January 28. Tried getting an appointment 4 times. Keeps saying they "got my message please wait for a call back".
I would like to give Thanks for a wonderful experience with everyone especially the front desk Receptionist She was so very understanding and more then willing to help me!!! As for The Doctor and staff just as wonderful 👍!!! God bless you all I can not wait for my next appointment.
The only reason I'm okay with giving 1 star is because I never actually experienced the staff/clinic and if I had done so, there just might have been room for my experience to be even more disappointing than it already was. I was referred to Affiliated by my PCP last week, then received a text message from Affiliated today stating my referral was complete and I could click a link or call to get scheduled. The link brought me to a Klara website where I attempted to schedule a general new patient appointment (I didn't even know if that was the right option, though, because what if I technically needed to schedule a new patient esthetic appointment or a new patient skin exam appointment instead? Zero guidance for someone new to the world of derm who doesn't even know yet what type of services they may need or how it may be categorized by a specific clinic.....). I finally made it past the date/time selection and began entering my information, but I had to reach out to my insurance to double check a few things that Affiliated was asking about. Upon returning to the Klara site, it refreshed on me and I again lost everything I had already entered up to that point. I attempted to enter all the info for my appointment without going into the scheduling part again, but it became clear that there was no appointment listed/on record for me (or, if there was, there was no way for me to access the details, etc.). So I tried again to schedule the same appointment, but it was no longer an option now, which to me means the system must've booked my reservation before it refreshed. Being I clearly could not do anything further online and wanting to make sure I did actually get scheduled, I called the clinic. I was on hold for 20 minutes before I decided to hang up and try again. The second time I called, I was on hold for 41 minutes. I hung up again and called back again, this time to leave a voicemail stating that I'm not even sure if I got scheduled or not but that, after waiting for an hour on hold and still not reaching anyone, I will not be using their practice and that if the appointment did get scheduled they can just go ahead and cancel it. I work in healthcare - have even been on the clinic's side of the phones before, making appointments for new and established patients, informing patients of test results, taking patients' called-in questions, etc. - and NEVER would this kind of customer service be acceptable, especially in the context of trying to establish care for new patients. I will certainly be looking elsewhere for my dermatology needs. ETA: after leaving my message to cancel any appointment for me that may or may not have been made, and then leaving this review, a gal from their office called me back. I did not answer as I want nothing to do with this practice and shouldn't have any "to do items" since my appointment either never was scheduled or if it was, I explicitly requested it be canceled in my initial VM. Her VM to me said that she saw that I was trying to schedule an appointment so to give her a call back to do so, but noted that they do close early today (Wednesday, November 5). It's not a holiday today, and no where did anything mention they have any staff meetings, technical issues, etc., so why the early closure?? Also, being she asked me to call back to schedule, she obviously didn't even bother to listen to my initial VM (or if she did, just doesn't care about a potential patient's wishes). Doubly glad this practice will not be handling any of my private information or any aspect of my health.....
Jonathan Lavian is by far the worst dermatologist I’ve ever encountered. He did not listen to what I was saying or make any real effort to understand my concerns. The few questions he asked were rushed and dismissive, as if I hadn’t paid for the appointment and was receiving a free consultation. The visit felt hurried and impersonal, and the only recommendation I received was to use a very generic serum, with no explanation or individualized guidance. This lack of professionalism and patient care was extremely frustrating. I would not recommend him.
Saw Dr. Jonathan Lavian today. Very disappointed in this visit. He was rude and condescending to me, saying I had "living spots" on my face, that were due to the fact that I’m over 40 yrs old. He then told me he didn’t have a laser to remove them and I’d have to go to a different office 30 miles away to Dr. Lowell. He acted put out by my questions and then said I was done and left the room. I will not return to this office for future dermatology visits.
Went here for the first time and was very pleased with the visit. I called and was able to obtain an appointment the same day. Hannah was great explaining everything and her assistant was very knowledgeable as well. Definitely would recommend coming here!
