Was recommended by another Dermatology office who was way over booked. When I called Alexis told me there were 2 appt the following day. She was great at providing info and making it very easy to get in. Paperwork is straightforward and there isn't super redundancy in asking the questions again by the team. Dr. Reese was full of energy and very genuine in helping. I was able to get in and out of there very quickly, with consultation, chit chatting and procedure all in under 25min. Which I think is a blessing because who really actually likes spending time at the doctor's office? When I wrote in an email with a question after the procedure I got a personalized phone call back. Im very happy with all the interactions from the whole team. Honestly highly recommended.

I go to Union Square Derm for regular skin treatments, and also skin checks. I feel that the care is good, and the office staff is pretty friendly and professional. Usually I see NP Nicole Spooner. She is friendly and efficient, and has a direct style of communication, which I appreciate because I don't have a lot of time for small talk. She is proactive in noticing skin changes and potential problems. She suggests different options for treatment. The office is busy, so I schedule appts over email now and the front desk responds promptly so I can get an appointment, usually it's about a month out. I like the location, it's walkable from BART and the neighborhood is fine. I've driven there before and it's not bad, with a parking garage about 2 blocks away. Recommend this derm clinic.

Union Square Dermatology is wonderful. Nicole is an incredible listener and really takes the time to understand what you want before making any recommendations. She is thoughtful, calm, and never rushed, and her aesthetic sense is spot-on—natural and never overdone. I always leave feeling confident, cared for, and happy with the results. I won't go anywhere else!

I've had a very good experience with this office. They have spent appropriate time evaluating my needs and making a decision on how to remove a mole on my face with minimal scarring, I have never felt rushed. The front desk staff esp Pam have been on top of things and return calls in a timely way. No issues with billing (in fact they caught their own error and fixed it before I had to do anything). I will continue going here for medical dermatology needs.

So I came 2 times. Staff is nice, the appointments felt rushed specially the first ome with Nicole, got prescribed expensive stuff that I was told in the 2nd consult that I don't need. I think the area is in and the overall health care system that is client focused rather than care focused causes these interactions. No wonder any ppl travel outside of the country to get services like such. Debating weather i even need to come back. 🤔 probably not. But the staff is friendly

TLDR; The visit with Dr. Walton was pleasant and very short. We just get straight to the point with no frills. Instructions were given, was prescribed a few things, shot was given and then asked for a follow up. Was out the consultation room in less than 10 minutes. What I didn't have a good experience with is the company's practice and lack of professionalism when it comes to billing and insurance / credit card retention. I gave them my insurance information 5x and they still did not keep my in-network insurance on file until I asked them to charge my $40 copay the afternoon of my visit after I realized that there's definitely a copay for that visit. I called 4x before someone answered. During the call to pay my copay, it turns out the front desk person I met did not put my information in despite saying she did. What she did keep was my credit card information that they refuse to delete despite me never signing any form to justify it. This practice will try to make you sign a form that forces you to keep a payment card on file, have it charged without notification when there is a bill and forgo your right to dispute the charge if there's a discrepancy in billing. I shared the image of the form below. The front desk personnel will also hound you if you don't put your personal address and ssn on the forms. I gave them my address but the fd still refused to acknowledged that I wrote it down on the paper form. I generally have payment cards stored for copayments at other practices. However, I have never had practice (or worked at a practice or business) that has these terms and conditions. It feels almost predatory and extremely insensitive. I understand when bills are due they are due. However, not saving my insurance information when I gave it multiple times, refusing to acknowledge I had filled the health forms online and even written down my address. Is just terrible practice as someone who also works in the medical field. I even emailed the team and offered them to submit the insurance claim myself just to ensure that it does get billed to them first. I even asked for a patient ledger once it's done cause I need to know my claim gets billed correctly. I am still awaiting any response. Furthermore, they do store you whole card information on their computer system and not an secure off-site institution as they claim, cause the FD on the phone confirming my copay was able to repeat the card number from front to back. Trust me this is not standard practice at medical offices or even businesses. At most the only card info a business would have is the last 4 digits of the card and it's expiration. Not the whole card's information I did not sign anything (their green agreement policy) that authorizes them to charge my card without my consent or say so cause I am not tardy on bills. (If I was why would I called 3 hours later to pay my copay immediately) But treating every new or existing patient like they are out for free service gives the impression that it's money first before your health by a long-shot. Most practices I've been to are not like this The whole fiasco about not wanting to save my insurance so they bill me directly instead cemented my experience at this practice. The doctor may be nice but the billing system and practice is definitely flawed. It's almost like they operate more like a beauty spa/ clinic than an actual medical facility for PATIENTS with skin conditions that go beyond "aesthetic". The administrative staff seem unwilling to actually do their role besides pushing you to fill out the green agreement form (pictured below), give card information and your address to ensure they can bill you instead and then send you to collections. Everything but sending the claim to insurance and actually caring about the patient as a patient not just a "client". I would not recommend this for patients who need patient care as the administrative headache is simply not worth it if you’re already ailing from a few things

Phenomenal practice full of experienced providers that really, truly care. Dr Reese, Nicole and Jeannie are experts in their own individual ways and collectively have a wealth of knowledge to share. I'd see any of them myself for any needs but specifically Dr Reese for tattoo removal, Nicole NP for laser and vast expertise of cosmetic treatments and Jeannie for her understanding and care with her patients and her experience of many years of aesthetics.
