UPMC Dermatology - Oakland

I was a little concerned when I saw some of these reviews. The office staff was very professional. I did not have a long wait time at all. I was called back right on time. There was even a screen in the lobby, allowing patients to know if their provider was on schedule or not, which I thought was impressive. The medical assistant was very professional, and the physician assistant I saw was also very professional and personable. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews, but this office was exceptional.

Horrible experience! I arrived on time for my appointment at 11:00 AM. The screen shows the doctor is delayed but less than 15 minutes, which is nonsense. After waiting for 30 minutes at front desk, they finally led me to an exam room. The nurse asked me a couple of questions then left me there waiting. I’ve been waiting for another 40 minutes so far. Nobody has showed up or updated how long do I still need to wait. I have to cancel my another appointment at 12PM. If they cannot follow the schedule, what’s the point of making an appointment??? This is a very frustrating experience. It’s running late over a hour, still waiting…

Very poor staff with assisting in any way from prescription refill to even getting in touch with a person in the office. Their phone line has not answered once in seeing them for 12 months now. I’ve been lead very in the dark for over a year now and just save your time and trips from heading to this office. Disappointing for UPMC

Absolutely terrible, this was my first time at a dermatologist and I had a lot of concerns and things I wanted to go over, the doctor didn’t even give me a chance to talk. I was frustrated because they were blaming things like bc on my acne when I’ve had the same acne for 5 years prior bc. Their are so many things wrong with how my appointment went, they were 30 minutes behind and then I had 5 minutes to "talk" to my doctor which was just her telling me the medicine she’s making me take without even looking at my skin or asking my concerns or why I was there it was completely unpersonal and completely rushed. I hated every minute of it. Will use medicine prescribed and will never be going back.

The doctors and nurses are great at this location, the receptionist personnel are horrible. They are not friendly and disrespectful to patients. I would recommend another location or other doctors rather than go through the people who act like they would be anywhere else than doing this job

They do not take the time to explain anything and will bill you when they say they won't. I never write reviews for anything, but this experience was so infuriating that I did. I will go to a hardware store next time I need dermatology work done.

They aren't great, also if you make an appointment in the afternoon show up 50 minutes late, that's generally how long you'd have to wait if you showed up on time.
