Dr. Gail B. Whitman, MD

This was the first full body check for me, and I'm so glad Dr. Whitman was recommended to me. She's friendly, no-nonsense, explains what she is doing, really top notch!

I really disappointed about the way my appointment and my son appointment has been handled by this office. I called first thing in the morning to manage my son appointment for sooner availability. I had to some time off from work and another special needs child care. When I arrived office told us they had double booked ours appointment to their existing appointment . This kind of organization is unacceptable for a medical office . Patients rely on your respect of time and honor theirs appointments

Having a history of skin cancer, I went in for a full body check. I have never been to a dermatologist who does not use a magnifying loop and lit scans my body in seconds without noticing anything. I had to point out a patch on my face that is pre-cancerous or she would not have seen it. Then she proceeded to cryofreeze pinhead sized patch and now I have a giant blister on my face. I have had several things removed and never in my life. Has any doctor ever caused such a giant blister that is 10 times the size of what needed to be addressed! I may have a scar the size of a dime for something that was the size of a pinhead! I cannot get over the lack of attention she paid me and how terrible a job she did!

I love Dr. Whitman. I began going to her for general dermatological treatments (like mole checks), many years ago. I have always been pleased with her attentiveness, treatments and pleasant demeanor. I highly recommend her and her office. I think the comments, by a previous reviewer, about the cleanliness of her office are rediculous.

Terrible experience. I went in for a rash on my face that I thought was a severe allergic reaction. She diagnosed it as acne (it was not) and prescribed antibiotics. For five weeks. Which I took, not knowing any better. My immune system was compromised and I now have an allergy to penicillin (which I did not have before). I went back for my check-up appointment. The doctor told me that since the "acne" had not gotten worse, I should continue with the antibiotics. I should note here that my symptoms had also not gotten any better. The visit took less than 3 minutes. They were happy to charge me the full copay. I am still dealing with the ramifications of the "treatment" I received. She would NOT listen to what I felt was wrong and completely dismissed my concerns. On my second visit, she spent the majority of the time speaking with the nurse about me as though I was not in the room a few feet away. At no point did I feel cared for as a patient or even valued as a person. Quite the opposite. I am still trying to heal the damage caused by this doctor because she refused to hear what I had to say.

Hmmm . . . I'm not one to write reviews, but I just read the one star review and I believe it did an injustice. I've been going to Dr. Whitman for four years now and have never noticed any issues regarding the cleanliness of her office. Dr. Whitman has always been pleasant and professional and I highly recommend her.

Dr. Whitman is smart, honest, and knowledgeable. If you are looking for "warm and fuzzy," she might not be the best fit, but she's straightforward and I am always satisfied with my experience with her.
