Voyage Healthcare - Maple Grove

First time here, went to see Meher. It was actually better than i imagined, she heard me out. Knew i was going through so much at a young age, and put me in with a GI specialist since i’ve been battling colitis for a whole year now with no help from any other doctors and one even yelling at me at Centracare in Monticello. She talked to me where it was easy for me to understand since i’m an adult with special needs where my mental age doesn’t match my physical and i have some learning disabilities. This is the first doctor to help me understand my body a bit more, im hoping she can become my primary doctor since i do not have one during these 4+ chronic flare ups that aren’t under control and not able to go to Children’s now since i’m too old . She is truly awesome!

Normally I never make a complaints especially publicly, because I understand honest mistake happens. But i have serious concerns regarding the care and administrative handling I have experienced with Voyage Healthcare since choosing them as my primary care after moving to Minnesota. Unfortunately, every interaction has reinforced a pattern of unprofessionalism, poor communication, and lack of accountability. Most concerning was my experience with one of their rheumatologists. During an appointment, I raised concerns about long-term bruising on my legs. The physician looked me directly in the eye and stated that these symptoms "meant nothing" to him, accompanied by a disturbing and dismissive expression. This interaction made me feel disregarded and unsafe as a patient. In addition, I encountered repeated administrative failures. I had to call their scheduling department four separate times simply to confirm my surgery time. Despite the surgery being scheduled more than a month in advance, I was informed the day before the procedure that it had been canceled because a nurse had lost my paperwork, resulting in insurance issues. This cancellation had serious consequences. On the work side, I had already arranged my own schedule and my team’s coverage, and I used 160 hours of paid time off to accommodate my recovery. At home, my husband coordinated with his employer to take one full week off from work in order to care for me post-surgery. Beyond the logistical impact, the emotional toll was substantial. I went through significant anxiety and made considerable mental and physical efforts to prepare myself for surgery. After finally reaching a point of readiness, I was informed—at the last minute—that the surgery was canceled due to internal carelessness and unprofessionalism These experiences demonstrate a serious lack of professionalism, coordination, and respect for patients’ time, health, and emotional well-being. Dr. Merkel is one of the best doctors I have ever had and I have been going to him a long time. Voyager Healthcare is one of the best clinics. I highly recommend them.

Staff and Dr Meher were all extremely accommodating. I was roomed quite soon after I arrived. Dr Meher diagnosed me, called in prescriptions to my pharmacy and sent me on my way, with hardly any waiting. Very pleased with my visit.

Brought my son to see the orthopedics here and had to go to the U of M for a second opinion because the dr just told me my diabetic son had bone on bone arthritis in his toe. He seemed annoyed with any questions I had and just told me surgery wasn’t an option till he was an adult and had a terrible attitude. I would never recommend to my friend or family. We got the second opinion and this Dr said he did NOT feel my son has arthritis yet or at all, but that the cartilage from a fracture could be disrupted and could need surgery to fix the cartilage. Ordered a MIR to be able to make sure we can get this handled especially since he’s so young and a type 1 diabetes.

UPDATE Changed it from 2 stars to 1 stars. I did call and talk to someone in the business office. I just got the same old talking points of "I understand where you're coming from." No, you don't, if you understood where I was coming from, your clinic would actively do something about it. Instead of charging people for things that they didn't need done or asked for. And looking through your reviews, I am not the only person that feels they are getting charged extra for things. I originally gave it 2 stars because the nurses & doctors are nice, but the receptionist are inattentive and there is an unwanted feeling while checking in. The only reason I go here is because I love my surgen!! Once I'm done with my appts I will never come back to these clinics again. The policies, lack of communication, and line items they charge for are giant pain to deal with.

Everyone at Voyage Healthcare was professional and personable. The doctor and staff were helpful, knowledgeable and I trust them. My procedure was well explained and painless. Thank you.
