My primary care doctor sent me to this dermatologist. First appointment was in October. He looked at my skin did a biopsy and told me I did not have psoriasis. I was diagnosed with a psoriasis and arthritis that goes with it 10 years ago a rheumatologist diagnosed me with the arthritis went back in December and showed him my legs, and there was Psoriasis on my leg told him I had psoriasis in different parts of my body. He wanted to see I showed him as the nurse was over at the counter writing things down. She did not write down the all the other psoriasis prescribed an injection insurance denied because the nurse did not write all the other findings down. The picture is just one spot on my leg. I have more spots. Talk to Joanne on Monday she was gonna talk to the doctor a week later she still hasn’t called me back So I have given up hope from this practice
This review reflects my experience with the billing staff, rather than my experience with the doctor, who has been great to work with. I had an office visit in late May, and after my insurance processed the visit, I had a remaining balance of $21.51. Since I have a percentage copay after the remaining balance is known, I typically pay the outstanding amount during my upcoming visit—no big deal. However, I received a voicemail today stating that if I did not make the payment, I would not be able to keep my upcoming appointment. I thought to myself, "This seems excessive for a $21.51 bill," but I decided to call the office to make the payment. To my surprise, I was told that my husband had already paid the bill! I was puzzled, as only an hour had passed since the voicemail, and I was confused as to how my husband had become involved. It turns out that the office had called my husband, not to ask for me or a way to reach me, but according to him REQUEST THAT HE PAY THE BILL. Yes, you read that right! When I put my husband on the communication directive, I had no idea I was also permitting the office to request payments from him or anyone else listed. Additionally, my husband mentioned that he was told if the bill wasn’t paid, I would lose my appointment, and they would send the debt to collections. I have always paid my bills with this office, so I’m baffled as to why they would go to such extremes over just $21.51. I want to warn others that their billing practices are aggressive. In the span of one working day, I received an email, a phone call, and they even contacted my husband. I can only imagine what happens to those who owe more. I REALLY like my doctor, but this situation is making me second-guess things; it just doesn't sit right with me.
Made an appointment 3 months ago for a skin check. When I checked in the receptionist who was very nice even told me it had been a few years since my last skin check. When the nurse came to get me to take me back I asked her if I could use the restroom before we got started and she rolled her eyes and seamed very put out by my request. Then when I was back in The room she tells me they did not have me down for a full body skin check, they only had time to look at the one spot that I had concerns with so they wouldn’t have time for full body check. I was trying to explain to the nurse that when I made the appointment I did have concerns with one spot but I had told the receptionist I wanted to go ahead and get a full check. I also explained to her that I drove over an hour to get there. She absolutely did not care! She was very rude and hateful. Not once even smiled. What ever happened to good customer service? Some people are in the wrong line of work! I have had many skin checks in my life and they never take more than 10 minutes. Not to mentioned, when I walked out she was at the nurses desk bad mouthing about me to the PA and other nurses. Very unprofessional. Needless to say I’ll never go back there even though this has been my entire family’s dermatologist office for 10 years or more.
I am beyond appalled at what happened in the front office today. Their "policy" which is illegal and discriminatory was reported. After signing in they realized that my Daughter has secondary insurance (home state health) they refused to see her at all. While it is within their right to not bill to home state health they can not deny medical treatment, especially when she has a primary insurance. We have a primary insurance that they accept and have seen other members of our family and billed it fine. Because we adopted my daughter from foster care and she has several Medical diagnosis that make her have to see doctor quite often. She gets to have a secondary insurance that just helps to cover additional costs. We have seen several other medical writers in town and out of town. Every provider can bill the primary insurance and not bill the secondary insurance if they choose not to take it. The primary will always pay regardless of secondary since they pay before secondary. I confirmed this with my insurance agent, and also with the agency that will be handling the report that I filed. I would have been a little more understanding if I had been offered a self-pay option or any type of solution that didn’t involve them being rude and just looking at her card and saying "nope, we are not going to see her. My hope is that after this they will educate themselves better on how insurance works and not do this to another family. We have been waiting for a long time for this appointment. It’s something that my daughter really needed and we could’ve gone somewhere else and got on a list somewhere else. We chose to go here because my husband had already been here and really liked the doctor he saw.
Compassionate and knowledgeable staff. They made my experience comforting.
After my second RESURFX treatment the appearance and texture of my skin looks better than it has in decades. Of course, it hasn't eliminated wrinkles, but they are much improved. The results have really exceeded my expectations.
I had been a patient with them for years. I was seen by Amber every 6 months for skin cancer check ups. I actually had 2 spots surgericaly remove that were positive. I never missed an appointment or rescheduled even though they had to reschedule my appointment for one reason or another. In March 2024 I needed to reschedule because I had a broken water line and the plumber could only come at the same time my appointment was scheduled. Even though I called 24 hours in advance, I was informed that my appointment could not be rescheduled, I would have to wait 6 months to schedule an appointment. I asked why and I was told policy. I was told I could leave a message with Amber's assistant to see if she could make an exception, I did and no one called me back. I guess either my situation didn't matter to them or they have too many patients. They are now short one patient. I am not going back.
