I made an appointment in January for March (first available). I showed up to my appointment but they did not have me scheduled for any date. I had received the patient portal so obviously communicated with someone in the office to schedule an appointment. I asked how could they not have me down for my appointment that I scheduled over two months ago and hired a babysitter so that I can go. The response was "I don’t know you would’ve received a text reminder 5days prior". I’m new to the office. I don’t know how you operate and it still wouldn’t have changed that you didn’t have me down for an appointment that I’ve been waiting for over two months for. There was no "I’m sorry" or ownership that they made a mistake. If I had been a no show I’m sure I would have been charged a fee. I want to send an invoice for the babysitter I hired to get to my nonexistent appointment. Also, the next available appointment is over a month away. I would’ve kept that appointment if there had been some sort of acknowledgment that they messed up on their end. I had heard good things about Dr. Kim but I’m too annoyed to try to get in with her office.
All the bad reviews, it’s all true! Front desk and Dr. Kim have the worst attitude and truly do not care about their patients. I always had bad eczema and a couple years ago, I went through 2 of the most traumatic skin conditions of my life that I’ve never experienced before. I specifically remember Dr. Kim brushing off how I felt, not letting me explain my concerns, telling me not to cry, that she’s witnessed a few cases already, saw me for 5 minutes max, and sent me home. This happened every time I saw her. I’m sorry? Are you the one sitting there in pain? Whole body inflamed with red, raised skin all over your body? Unable to sleep or sit still because you feel nerve shocks crawling all over your body? She is not caring, compassionate, understanding, or have simple people manners. Don’t become a doctor if you truly do not care about your patients wellbeing. Patients come to you because they "trust" you with their health concerns and it’s clear this staff couldn’t care less. Why accept patients you won’t go above and beyond to help treat? If you simply can’t, just refer them to another doctor or dismiss them. Dr. Kim told me that my only 2 options were to stay on steroid creams my rest of my life or to try out a newly developed shot which also requires me to use for years of my life. Didn’t considered any natural options, maybe it could be my health habits, nothing. She even almost forgot to check what I’m allergic to in case of it being in the shot. After caving in and trying the Dupixent shot, the INITIAL DOSE messed up my whole body even more. She then put me on more steroids, other super strong medications, and had made me suffer even more. I finally had enough and decided to do my own research basically to find out I was going through topical steroid withdrawal (TSW). I watched and learned from other patients experiences, and healed myself drug-free. I was bedridden for about a year, my mother had to feed and bathe me because I was in so much pain, my skin was oozing, shedding, I lost about 70% of my hair. You can say all this was freaking traumatic. After I focused on controlling my stress levels and gut health, in no time I started to heal and am still healing now. In conclusion if you’ve made it this far, I do not recommend Dr. Kim and I will never forget the way she treated me and what her terrible treatment plan did to me.
My blind grandmother got a lyft to her doctor's appointment this afternoon at 1pm and was "greeted" by a receptionist with long black hair on a power trip. My grandmother has never received such horrible treatment from someone at a reception desk. When my nana received her intake forms she politely informed the receptionist she would need help to read them. With no one in the waiting room and a second receptionist on the phone, this lady tells my grandmother there's NO ONE in this office who can help her read the intake forms. No tools to assist a blind woman. Zero accessibility or aid. **This woman is talking to my nana as if she were a child**. She tells her to go home to finish the paperwork without seeing the doctor, and can only be rescheduled over two months from now. It's not like my grandma is trying to get botox or something, she was here today for a genuine health concern. If only someone, anyone of her family could've been there to help today or maybe if the receptionist wasn't such a condescending brick wall, this could've been a much better experience. Even if there's policies that prevent her from being helped, maybe the first person you talk to when you get to the office shouldn't be someone with the emotional maturity of a toddler. I want to clarify that the main takeaway here shouldnt be "oh we didnt get what we wanted" but moreso just how RUDE this woman was. My grandma just took whatever ridiculous appt date in July that was available, but she's just going to go somewhere else, because why waste anymore of our short time on earth remembering this event except to leave a review? Hope this helps ❤️
Dr. Kim was great! Took care of my problem the first visit! I came back for a follow up appointment and a full body exam. She found other things and explained what they were and concerns. Eliminating one more thing and then one more follow up visit and I was good!
Dr. Kim is really nice. The only problem I have is the front desk. Think they need more help to submit claims. I went back in May 12 of 2022. Still to this day the claim has not been submitted to my insurance company. Providers have 90 days from service date to submit to the insurance company. So when they do submit it it will be denied do to untimely filing .
My experience with Dr. Kim was completely awful. She saw me for about 5 minutes and barely treated me like a human with feelings. She kept interrupting me when I was trying to explain my concerns, either with assumptions of what I was going to tell her or to tell her medical assistant/scribe what notes to write down, and was already halfway out the door when I was asking a question at the end of the visit. She jumped right into the physical examination while I was talking and didn't listen to a word I said. Her attitude was smug and condescending while she was giving her diagnosis, and automatically took to prescribing me medication. She did not even bother to explain how to use said medication and instead instructed her assistant to walk me through it. Honestly, I think the assistant/scribe seemed more concerned than the doctor, who seemed rushed and uninterested in my health. I walked out of the examination room with whiplash and feeling like I was just robbed of my copay, poked and prodded for no reason, and with no clearer answers than what a simple Google search had provided me. The front office staff spent more time with me than she did. Please don't make my mistake and instead look for another dermatologist.
First time patient. I am glad I didn't listen to all of the negative reviews. From the front desk girls to Dr. Kim, all were very welcoming and friendly.
