Dr. Summer Chong

Dr. Summer Chong is caring, intuitive, and most importantly an excellent dermatologist. I have gone to her numerous times for different procedures and each time I am amazed at the results. As someone with a low pain tolerance she has made me feel comfortable and always talks me through each step so I know what’s to come. I would highly recommend her, and will continue to see her.

Dr. Somer Chong is a brilliant doctor who deeply cares about her patients. She is thorough, attentive, and sensitive to their pain and needs. She also carries the best self-care products and is always innovative. I wholeheartedly recommend her to all my family and friends. Review from my personal experience as a patient.

I have pretty bad medical anxiety and I was super nervous to go see Dr. Chong. I put it off for about 4 months until the reception staff at Oahu Dermatology contacted me and asked if I wanted to make an appointment or not. (I was referred to Dr.Chong by my PCP.) the front desk staff was super nice and helpful and I was able to make an appointment within a few weeks. I feel like this is an average wait time for most doctors. Parking was super easy and affordable. I paid 3$ after being there for a little over an hour. Dr. Chong’s office was very easy to find and after I checked in I didn’t have to wait long. My appointment was at 9:30 and I was called back into an examination room exactly at 9:30. Dr. Chong addressed all of my concerns and questions despite only being referred to her for one thing. She actually listened to me and didn’t dismiss my concerns like FOUR doctors before her. She was super kind and quick. I wasn’t expecting to have my skin tag removed at that appointment because I feel like most doctors will have you come in for an exam and then make you come back for the actual procedure. Not this time. She addressed my concerns, diagnosed me and preformed a skin tag removal procedure all in the same visit, which I really appreciate because I live on west side and hate driving to town, so this saved me additional trips, time and money. This was some of the best medical care I have received on island and it took less than 45 minutes. I highly recommend Dr. Summer Chong. I will be returning to her for any additional skin concerns in the future.

I recently started doing cosmetic procedures with Dr Summer Chong, she does it perfect. I was skeptical since I had previous bad experience, she reassured me that I would be ok & I loved my work done. She uses the latest technology & has the best brands for skin care routine. She has become my derm for my entire family. Very professional & office is clean.

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Chong regarding a skin condition. During my visit, she examined my face with only her naked eyes, without using any tools like a magnification or dermatoscope, and diagnosed me with a condition. After following her prescribed treatment for three months with no improvement, I decided to seek a second opinion. The new dermatologist carefully examined my skin using dermatoscope and diagnosed a different condition. With the new treatment plan, my skin is finally showing improvement. This suggests that the initial diagnosis might not have accurately addressed my condition. What’s more frustrating is the expensive bills I received after insurance adjustments for each visit, especially considering the potential risks of an incorrect diagnosis. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Dr. Chong.

Dr. Chong is highly competent, very professional and caring. I highly recommend Dr. Chong and Oahu Dermatology. Please, have your skin checked regularly. We live in the tropics. She recently found a serious skin cancer on my shin that that to me looked totally innocuous. Don’t put it off. It could save your life.

Doctor Summer Chong is a doctor, that anyone would be lucky to have. She is extremely thorough and knowledgeable. I had a small bump on the back of my ear and she detected that it was basil cell cancer. She immediately referred me to MOHS Surgery to have it removed. If it had not been for Doctor Chong’s thoroughness, the cancer could have easily been overlooked and metastasized.
