I had an appt with PA-C Joe Brady and he was fantastic! I had two areas of concern and he addressed both of them! Super happy with the outcome, affordability, and speed of service. The consultation and excision procedure was mostly all covered. No pain. Joe is knowledgeable and thorough. I wasn't sure what to expect especially with so many options online in terms of cost, but let’s just say I will be recommending this place to my friends and family, even those that are uninsured, because of the affordability of the self pay option and the professionalism of the provider. Thank you, Joe!

On January 13, 2025, Skin and Cancer Institute performed a biopsy on me without getting prior authorization from my insurance (Ambetter). They never told me my insurance hadn't approved it. They just had me come in, took my copay, did the procedure, and sent me on my way like everything was covered. Almost a full year later, December 29, 2025, I get a bill for $568.61. This is unethical billing. According to Ambetter's own policies, providers are required to "verify eligibility and benefits prior to rendering services" and obtain prior authorization as "a condition of payment." Skin and Cancer Institute's responsibility was to check if the biopsy required authorization BEFORE doing it, not bill me a year later when insurance denies the claim. If they had told me upfront that insurance wouldn't cover it, I could have: Found a different dermatologist who could get it approved Worked with my insurance to appeal Decided whether to pay cash knowing the actual cost Made an informed decision about my healthcare Instead, they blindsided me with a surprise bill 12 months after the fact. This practice is dishonest and puts profit over patients. Every other medical office I've dealt with gets authorization first or warns you if something isn't covered. Skin and Cancer Institute just does the procedure and sends you the bill when insurance denies it. If you're considering this practice, ask them upfront if they're getting prior authorization. Don't end up like me.

The doctor was great. The facility was EXTREMELY OVERBOOKED - STANDING ROOM ONLY - it was terrible. Some of the staff was rude and unapologetic. Got there at 9:30 am and left after 3pm. The most ridiculous experience I have had at a Dr. office ever. So you get to be anxious because you know they will be cutting cancer out of you, but then you get to worry about the whole procedure and process for hours. Not ok. And where they think that it is, is completely beyond me AND the other 25 people in the waiting room. I will not be going back.

First, the people who schedule your appointment oh the phone don't actually work at the location, so you have to give the people on the phone your info and then give it again (insurance, etc) once you get there. This is not a huge deal but an annoyance. I was not a new customer to "The Skin and Cancer Institute", I have visited another location before. When I arrived for my appointment at this location, I was told that a debit card is REQUIRED to keep on file. I asked why I didn't have to do this before, and was told its a new policy. I was told there was no way around and that they would refuse to see me unless I complied. So I left. This information needs to be given out BEFORE the appointment is made, and is something the person on the phone could have easily told me, as they were telling me other policies. Management needs to know that this is a bad policy and it will cost them customers. It could also cost them money in case of theft of card information. I don't trust the people who you may give access to my debit card info, or your computer system which could be hacked. We live in an age where companies are being hacked, giving out personal info left and right and nothing is changing anytime soon. I don't know how they store and secure your data, if they keep it via paper or computer, but really it does not matter. A debit card is a card that is not protected in case of theft, accident, etc. All it takes is one wrong click or bad judgement call and I could be on the hook for possibly hundreds or thousands of dollars with no great way to get it back. I was a returning customer and had no outstanding debts after my previous visit. I will always chose not to do business at locations that try this. It is simply not worth the risk, I can do business at a place that respects my privacy/security.

It's always a pleasure to get treatment at Gilbert Dermatology and Skin Cancer. First and foremost, Joe Brady provides superior medical services with compassion and all the information a patient requires to understand their diagnosis and treatment plan. The entire staff is pleasant and welcoming. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my skin care needs!

The providers at this office deserve 5 stars—they were professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the medical assistant was the complete opposite and provided a very poor experience. It significantly took away from an otherwise great visit.

This was my first visit, and I had a fantastic experience at this clinic. Joe Brady and his MA, Ashley, were excellent. Professional and very knowledgeable, yet extremely friendly. I highly recommend this practice.
