Optum - Everett Dermatology

Unfortunately I don't have a good review. I've been a patient for more than 10+ years for Dermatologist department. The Doctors and nurses and staff are respectful and courteous. However, there is a lack of communication. Lot's of processes. Coordination between departments can improve. As someone who has been dealing with different types of chronic issues it's been a painful year. My chart is not perfect, it has system issues. It does take days to hear back from staff. Yet, we are told by Optum that Mychart is the future. Fix it first please. One is having to call and send messages creating multiple messages through different platforms. There needs to be better coordination between departments of medical staff. Patient is referred to walk in clinic. Walk in clinic does not always provide the care as not all staff have the same qualifications or experience to provide care. One is then referred back to the Dermatologist department. It's an unnecessary cycle of confusion. Also, not taking critical tests, cultures, biopsy, all the while the patient is in pain wondering what it is. Being prescribed the wrong medication. Then months later when the correct diagnosis was done. Only after I asked to see my Doctor at another department. Was I prescribed the correct medication. For months I was taking the wrong medicine. Why not take a look to see what it could be the 1st time??? A treatment plan??? What tests need to be done??? Optum you can do better. There is a 5-6 months waiting list for the next appointment at the earliest. It's frustrating navigating the confusion of mychart and seeing the providers. The processes, red tape are in the way of patients care. To top it off as I'm having another chronic issue. I was referred to another provider at the worst possible time of the year. Just before Christmas and New Year's. And receiving the message through mychart. I've already called the provider I'm being referred to and even if they take me in. They have told me the earliest appointments are next year. All the while I'm dealing with another of my chronic issues. Not to worry I've been asked to call 911 or go to the local emergency room for care. Let's hope the referral works and I get the proper care that I need. That's all Folks!!!

Went here on referral. Dr. Knapp took samples and had my results the next day and then saw me again to perform the removals. All of the staff were kind, helpful, and professional. Dr Knapp was astounding is his professionalism, answering my questions, and skilled in completing the removals while minimizing my discomfort. I really appreciate the superior level of care that I recieved from this group!

Dr. Majerus does an excellent job. Knowledgeable, great bedside manner.

Fantastic Dr. He actually read my medical chart, and knew issues I had that are not related to what he was seeing me for, BUT are very important for how to treat me. He also was well prepared. Had read my radiology report, saw pictures I sent via MyChart, and read up on what had been done prior. (Both urgent care visits) He explains what's going on & we discuss treatment plan best for me. Has a great bedside manner & doesn't talk over my head by using medical jargon, I wouldn't understand. Yet, explains it in layman's terms I can understand & even pulled up what he was talking about, so I had visual aid, along with what he was talking about. Made it very easy to comprehend & I left, with a clear treatment plan & next step, if medications didn't clear up the stubborn wound. Really listens. I found a great dermatologist! Highly recommend him.

10/10 would get de-moled again.
