Deaconess Health System

While the drs are great, the financial assistance department is an ABSOLUTE JOKE! I completed the application for financial assistance and waited to hear back from these folks. Over 60 days later, I finally receive 1 letter from them stating I’d been denied for lack of response to their requests for additional information. So I called them to find out what happened, and all the Lynette lady would say is "well, your address is where we sent the letter." No crap, lady, so I said, "that’s why I called, now what about the requests for additional information?" AND SHE HUNG UP ON ME! 😡 Grow up and do your damn jobs to help people like you’re suppose to!!!

Like all medical facilities, there are good and not good doctors and supporting staff at Deaconess. The issue I have is frequently cancelled appointments at the last minute. Yesterday, my appointment with Dr. Starrett was cancelled just 20 minutes before appointment time. No reason given for the cancellations. Not the first, second, third or even forth time this has happened. The PATIENT RELATIONS office is closed at the Gateway location. No one seems to care and supervisory personnel and management are not accessible. The CEO makes $1.6 MILLION dollars a year, other management make a very little less. I'm taking my business elsewhere. There has to be better options for health care in the area.........

Was there as a visitor for a loved one, everyone seemed friendly and professional. Also, my husband made a comment about how clean it smelled, not the gross "hospital clean smell," but actually clean.
