Duke Dermatology Clinic - Clinic 3K

It has been incredibly difficult to make an appointment. I was told there is no availability with any provider for the remainder of the year. Additionally, it was difficult to understand the caller. I realize it may not be an easy job, but quality of care and communication are important. I could barely hear them, and the interaction left me feeling as though I was an inconvenience.

I was referred for an appointment 4 months ago and was told by Duke that they would call me when they were ready to schedule me. After a month passed, I called them and was told they were not ready to schedule me. Another 3 months passed and still nothing. I called back and the person I was speaking to didn't seem to be aware of the protocol of Duke calling me. The next available appointment is 8 months from now when I will have lost my insurance. The whole experience was so disrespectful and of course Duke admin doesn't care because it's only motivated by profit and not quality.

The front desk associates were apathetic in assisting me to get scheduled. I had to call 5 times to see if the front desk was able to get me scheduled then they decided to tell me I needed to call another line to set up a Duke portal (on the fifth call I’ve made telling them how uncomfortable I am and needed to get on the schedule). I was also told I’d be called back several times for a follow up on my appointment status at a specific time and was never contacted, this happened twice (I believe this associates name was Quincy). They also could not find my referral when I contact the other front desk I was instructed to contact at the scheduling hub and did not seem to care to help me at all. I do not recommend trying to schedule with duke dermatology.

We were so excited to get my son into Duke for skin lesions he’s had going on 6 years. It was the biggest disappointment we waited two weeks with no response to their portal messages to find the lab trashed my son’s specimens due to insufficient amount. No one called to ask for a larger sample or even has read his records. He’s no closer to help than he was. I thought Duke would help till they found him help!

Good luck getting an appointment! I scheduled 6 months in advance just to have the dermatologist cancel on me. They want to schedule me ANOTHER 6 months out, and aren't willing to budge on seeing me outside hours or during lunch. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable to cancel on someone with a diagnosed condition and force them to wait 12 months to see a doctor, without offering a single concession. Wish I could have the time back that I spent waiting for this garbage provider.

I have been trying to schedule a patch testing appointment here (as a new patient) for over 3 weeks. I was told there is ONE person who coordinates this, and she has ignored my last 3 voice messages over the course of the last week. The staff is deceivingly polite on the phone, but is otherwise very unresponsive and uncaring. Left an awful impression on this potential new patient. I will seek an even further (out-of-state) option for my allergy treatment.

Dr. Wolfe is an extraordinary physician who has the professional r professional in who has a professional professional expertise and the personal compassion, sensitivity, and attention to details of some very unusual diseases I have a couple of them and she has been unbelievably good. She also has an extraordinary young woman named Sheila Sheila I hope I'm saying it correctly I was unable to go today to my appointment because I had I I've been in the hospital at Duke and I have pneumonia bacterial pneumonia which is very contagious so I had to cancel my appointment and I called to make sure that everything canceled that's when I encountered Sheila that's not how you spell her name but that since I'm transposing this is the best I can do she was so kind so patient so professional and so incredibly incredibly knowledgeable and caring about her patients. She is an asset to Dr Wolf and to do University Hospital she's a true blue dookie that's a high compliment. Anyone would be honored to have her. I was so much better after just speaking with her. Her beautiful spirit shines through. She is a beautiful young woman I'm sure her grandma thought she was a no she is or no she is that's about all thank you so much and once again Sheila I would be honored if I were your grandmother to goodbye God bless
