UNC Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center at Southern Village

If you want a doctor that acts like house while being recklessly uninformed as doctors get risking malpractice- GO HERE! If it’s serious- they will let you get worse before better for the sake of lining their pockets and avoiding paperwork- all while conveniently avoiding any paper trail of you mentioning the stuff they malignantly purposely dismissed and ignored.

Very bad experience of my last visit. Saw Dr. Ferris about two skin tags on my neck. She never addressed them. Then I asked her about removing two moles on my forehead. She responded "You want me to commit Medicare fraud"? I was stunned to say the least. Very bad unprofessional manners. Then they were going to refer me to some else, but never called me back. This office has gone downhill. Sure miss Dr. Morrow.

We have had an amazing experience at UNC dermatology. Our newborn son saw both Drs. Haydek and Nieman, for evaluation and treatment of a port wine stain. Both doctors were compassionate, intelligent, knowledgeable, professional, and clinically skilled. The thing that stood out to me most, though, was their excellent communication. Both doctors went above and beyond, taking the time to throughly explain my son’s condition and the expectations for treatment. Dr. Haydek followed up via phone calls after my son’s appointment, and Dr. Nieman showed us a PowerPoint presentation to teach us about my son’s condition. To me, this demonstrates dedication to their patients and passion for their careers. Additionally, all of the administrative and clinical staff has been friendly, helpful, and patient with us. I am so thankful our son is in the care of UNC dermatology!

Dr. Corley and Dr. Merritt are wonderful and the best at what they do. Wow it's amazing what great work they have completed on I, and a friend of mine. Keep up the great work. Shirlene Lester

I have been a patient of Dr. Sayed for years. He has always been very kind, listens, and understands my needs for my care. I would give a higher rating just for him, but his billing/insurance department however — I have dealt with SO much chaos trying to get this department to accurately put my insurance benefits in. I have had to beg….and no patient should have to beg someone to do their job. Especially since I am the customer paying here. They either are under staffed or their current staff isn’t the best at getting tasks done. Sorry not sorry, I shouldn’t have to call every 2 weeks to make sure you did what I ask…which is just accurately put in my info! I have been going back and forth with their billing department (through phone call and through myuncchart multiple, multiple times) for 5 months now because they fail to update my insurance benefits on my account, which shows the wrong amount due. They sent me a letter threatening to send me to a debt collector, yet they won’t update the right information in their system. I am writing this as I am currently stilllll begging this office to make the right corrections. Make it make sense. There is no urgency whatsoever and to be honest…be prepared to feel just like a # to them. It’s sad that most healthcare places are like that these days. Again, I’d like it known Dr. Sayed is great…but be prepared to want to bang your head on the wall because of the billing/insurance department and their lack of care.

I have primarily been a patient at the Raleigh location, over the past few years. The staff and doctors are very friendly. However , during every visit , I’ve had to wait for close to an hour, after entering the exam room, before the doctor arrived. They seem to never assign the same doctor, and you have to re-explain your medical history, and reason for your visit , even after your initial screening. The doctors usually spend little time doing a thorough diagnosis. The last time that I was there, I had to point out a cancerous skin growth, which I believe the doctor had overlooked. I’ve had mixed experiences with this office, but found better choices elsewhere.

Called for a new appointment, I have a new fast growing mushroom looking abnormal growth. I was told April for appointment, but talked with another established representative located a cancelation on the day before Thanksgiving. I will attend this appointment 😌. Praying 🙏
