Execs can walk in without having established care, while regular patients have to what 12-18 months, often times being rescheduled and pushing their appointments out even further. Very chaotic. Lots of lip service.
It’s ridiculous that I scheduled an appt in February for concerning spots on my face, and had to wait 6 MONTHS until August to be seen. Then to be called and told the doctor won’t be there so now I have to wait 3 MORE MONTHS on top of the first 6 until November to be seen and hope I don’t have cancer on my face! Instead, go to Dermatology Partners, they’ll get you in in a reasonable amount of time.
I love this dermatologist office and doctors! I have had a couple different doctors for myself and my kids and never had any issues. The office is nice. I never have to wait more than 5 minutes to be called back for the appointment times. Every time I call for any issues, they always get me or my kids in asap.
I made an appt in Dec 2023 for Oct 2024 (it was their first available). At some point they rescheduled my appt to another location without talking to me. I showed up 10 min early at the original location and was told to go to the other location and that they'd still take me even though I'd be late at that point. When I got to the other location they wouldn't take me, even though they talked to the first location before I started driving and told them they would take me. They rescheduled me for early Jan 2025 at the original location and were so unnecrssarily rude that I left in tears. Turns out the Dr they rescheduled me with was already planning on retiring in Dec 2024 so my appt was changed again (without my knowledge) to about a week later in Jan 2025 and moved to the second location again. No one called me about the change. When I found out it was scheduled for a time I'd be at work I called to change it and they said there's nothing available until late Oct 2025 now and that there's nothing they can do. Edit to specify that this is all for a new patient appt because they won't address any moles or discuss reconstruction surgery for scars until after I have a new patient appt.
I made an appointment months in advance to see DR. BLAKE BROOKS at St.Luke's Dermatology at 5415 Lanark Road, Center Vally, PA. I arrived at 12:25 pm for a 1pm appointment as they require for you to show up 15 minutes before your appointment. There was one gentleman there and I was the second to arrive. At 12:50 pm , four other people showed up. At 12:55 pm everyone was called in except me. I inquired at 1:15 pm why I haven't been called in yet. The employee at the front desk said the doctor was running 15 mins behind and that there was one person in front of me and then I would be called in. I was told there are several doctors there. I questioned if the area I was in was the only way patients would come in and out of the office to which she said yes. At 1:30, I saw one person leave and it was the last lady that walked in before everyone was called in. I was told at 1:30 pm that it would be another 15 mins or so.... It was apparent there was no backup other than the doctor asking the front desk to lie about a procedure . How UNPROFESSIONAL for a new patient to walk in and wait an hour to find out it could be another 15- 30 mins. I DO NOT recommend this office. They are not organized and this doctor appears to lie about "so call procedures" running behind. I only saw one person leave and the 12:40 appointment wasn't called in until 1 pm with no patients leaving. Obviously the doctor just thought it was ok to make patients wait OVER 1 HOUR... and remember I was told there were other doctors there for some of the patients that were called in before me who arrived after me. AWFUL experience.... St Luke's is too big and is monopolizing the medical industry. This office may be pretty in the inside but the frustration they put patients Through is unacceptable! PATIENTS BEWARE!
Gosh, I’m really tired of the continuous difficulty of this place. For my first visit, I made it clear that I needed a female provider due to religious reasons. I do not intend to undress any part of my body for a male. So guess what- they gave me a male provider… which I find out after they had me waiting for TWO HOURS. I was incredibly upset with this as I didn’t get the care that I needed in addition to being made to wait an egregious amount of time with young children. Only my nurse felt bad for the mistake, the main ladies in the office didn’t feel bad at all. This male doctor also gave me meds that made my issues worsen Second time went fine, thanks for the female provider I finally got. She said the male provider shouldn’t have given me those meds. Turns out, he’s not as well versed in the biology of females and their hormones- which is concerning for a doctor who should know both. To schedule the third visit, they told me they didn’t have the schedule for the female provider for the new year so I had to keep calling back for about 3 months until it was available. After which, my appointment was for 3 months after the call. My follow up was supposed to be 3 months after my *visit*. Someone just called today telling me they’re cancelling my appointment! She was rude, and began the call by not even attempting to say my name. I get I don’t have a common name, but it’s exactly as it’s spelled and it’s pretty rude to purposely leave out the last letters of the name because you don’t even want to try. I’d rather you try and get it wrong than to act as though my name isn’t worthy of saying because it’s different than yours. Some diversity and professionalism training is called for in this office. I’ve given this office too many chances and I’m done. I hope others stray away from this office and find a place with more professionalism and kindness. For whoever responds to these one star reviews with the same comment, let me answer you now before you post- no I will not email or call to discuss this further. You have all the information needed here. I’m not going to put in any more effort in order to potentially speak to more rude employees. Do better.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. I've been going here for years and still they cannot tell me what the issue is. I was seen this week and she came in and took 1 min to look at my scalp and said oh you don't have anything active to take a culture of so we can't figure out what's wrong again.....mind you I've had this issue for 4 years now. They asked me what antibiotics I've taken like I'd remember all the drugs I've tried, isn't that their job?! To read my chart and tell me what to take next!!!! I was so frustrated because this is incredibly frustrating and irritating to say the least so I just get up and leave because it's the same old story. Oh let's refill ointments and creams but not find the root of the actual issue. I cry the entire way home and get home and guess what? I find two spot which I took pictures of that they could have absolutely taken a culture from. If she would have taken more than 45 seconds to look at me maybe she would have noticed instead of just writing me off. Also how was I supposed to know an actual doctor was going to come into the room? Honestly I never know with these people who I'm actually going to see and who's going to show up in the room. I call back and hour after I left my appt when I was done crying and requested my co-pay back of 50.00. I felt like I absolutely received no care and I did not want any refills from them. I called back every day and Friday I called again and same story, need a manager to call me back to get my money. 10mins later someone else calls me back who isn't a person to refund me but instead to harass me on why I didn't stay for the doctor and insinuating this is my fault because I didn't wait. I've been patient for years and still nothing is changed and I still have the issue so no, I didn't wait because she said there wasn't anything they could do until I had active lesions, which I absolutely did. I am livid someone called me back but not a manager I've been asking for since Tues (it's Fri) but someone to literally TALK DOWN TO ME INSTEAD about how I handled my appointment but not about how your doctors handled my care. THE AUDACITY OF THIS OFFICE IS UNREAL. DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND STAY VERY VERY VERY FAR AWAY FROM ST LUKES DERMATOLOGY BOTH CENTER VALLEY AND THE ANDERSON CAMPUS FOR THEY WERE NO BETTER!!!!! GET IT TOGETHER AND GIVE ME MY CO-PAY BACK!
