Dr. Steven Mings

Dr. Mings and all the staff my husband and I dealt with at Gem State Dermatology exceeded our hopes and expectations on today’s first visit. Dr. Mings is very experienced, personable, knowledgeable and very funny, plus he was raised in Idaho and has a leadership position in the Dermatology Department at the VA. He is the finest dermatologist we ever went to. The assistant staff was superb as well. We received more information about our skin issues than ever before and both received treatment. We both wish we had made this switch much sooner!

I was diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune skin disease a year ago and was scared and confused. I am so glad I found Dr. Mings to manage my disease. The office staff is amazing and responds quickly whether I call or message using the patient portal. They listen and will do whatever needs to be done to help. Dr. Mings has called me personally more than once to discuss labs or treatment plans. I’ve never had a doctor call me directly and it has been so helpful. Whenever I see him, it’s truly a collaboration as we discuss my treatment plan. Because my disease is so rare, Dr. Mings is not afraid to say he doesn’t know and we then look up treatments together and he always listens to the things I have researched on my own with the foundation for my disease. I’ve never had such a good experience with a doctor before.

Dr Mings and his staff are wonderful! Dr Mings is knowledgeable, empathetic, and always takes time to address your concerns. Whenever anyone asks me who I suggest for care I always refer them to Dr Mings. He has been my dermatologist for over 20 years.

If you are looking for top tier treatment Dr. Mings and Gem State Dermatology is the only way to go! Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, but he is very enjoyable to be around. His office is run efficiently and in a timely manner. I was in and out of his office in 20 minutes after my full skin exam.

We had been to 7 doctors before we got referred to Dr. Mings. No one could figure out what was going on with my daughter. I was so grateful for Dr. Mings' really taking the time to look into her condition. She is in remission for now. He has a great personality and made my daughter feel comfortable. I highly recommend!

I had good experience with his assistants but decided I needed to the Dermatologist himself even after being a regular patient it took me a year to get and appointment with him. He acted like I was bothering him the whole time and appeared completely disgusted to even look at my skin. He was rude and very condescending. He made me feel ashamed of my skin and my appearance. It was the worst most humiliating experience I ever had.
