I had an absolute joke of an appointment with Sierra Lowery, PA yesterday. It's so disappointing to go to the dermatologist and feel that their entire goal is to get you in and out of the office as quickly as possible. She was being so vague with me that it almost felt she was trying to keep me in the dark on purpose so I wouldn't ask any further questions. She hardly explained to me what she was doing. I can't even imagine how the appointment would've felt for someone who, for example, had never been to a derm before. Anyway, I left the office pretty upset and a little flustered. I told the receptionist on the way out who was very kind and apologetic and booked me with a new doctor. It's so upsetting because my last derm PA was absolutely incredible, but I had to switch due to insurance changes.

I first saw Dr. Kirk Saddler for a growth who was fine (waited about 40 minutes to see hime), and then had PA Courtney Smith excise it (one+ hour wait). I thought she was very nice and did a good job removing it. A few days later, she called me (Thursday) to tell me the tests revealed a neoplasm with spindle cells which could be benign or a slow growing cancer. She told me to sit tight and that she'd find out who I needed to be refered to and I'd hear from her by the following Thursday at the latest. I never heard back, so Thursday I reached out to her on the portal, but no response. On Friday, she wasn't in, so I spoke to a nurse who said that the request to see which doctor I needed, hadn't been put in yet, even though Courtney said it would be done the week before. The nurse said something about them switching systems. It's disappointing that they don't stay on top of their parient's care.

Great to see Dr. Brown healthy, full of joy, and wisdom! Although my appointments are every 6 months, this practice has been a blessing. Skin still healed!

My experience with Dr. Jessica Mercer was extremely disappointing. I waited almost two months for this appointment because I wanted a dermatologist who understood melanated skin. Instead, I left feeling unheard, dismissed, and stereotyped. I repeatedly told Dr. Mercer and her team that I was concerned about a persistent sore on my scalp that wasn’t healing. Instead of listening, the focus was shifted to my hair thinning something I was not there to address. When I tried to redirect the conversation back to the lesion, I was talked over and made to feel uncomfortable, especially after comments about me wearing wigs. I was told confidently that the spot was "nothing" and just a benign keratosis that would not return. Three weeks later, I received a call informing me that the biopsy actually showed squamous cell carcinoma. This was devastating to learn after having been brushed off and not taken seriously. The lack of empathy, the dismissiveness, and the failure to listen made me feel minimized and disrespected as a patient. I will not be returning and would urge anyone seeking thoughtful, attentive care to be aware of my experience.

From the front office staff to check out is such a wonderful experience. They are very professional, kind, and helpful. Big shout out to the front office lady and nurse who helped me take care of an urgent matter on 9/22/25 in the morning! (Shante and I can't recall the other lady's name! But yall were so great!)

This was my first experience with Basil cell carcinoma and Dr. Jessica Mercer was more than I could hope for. Efficient, professional, kind and joyful. Her staff (Megan & more) have the same attributes. Great group from check in to check out.

Everything went perfectly fine. Front office was courteous and I didn’t have a long wait before seeing the doctor. The doctor’s assistant was very courteous and professional and again, no long wait before the doctor came in. The doctor was great and I am very happy with all aspects of the practice.
