Asheville Dermatology

First, I've never written a 1 star review. I always try to be above board and contact a business directly. But, at this point, with no follow through from Asheville Dermatology, this is my only option. I originally wrote a 5 star review after my appointment on 12/2/25. I had an appointment on 12/2/25 after which I wrote in my original review that "I felt really seen and heard." The next day I had an adverse reaction to suggested guidance and one of my conditions worsened. I left a voicemail on 12/3/25 on the nurse triage line for someone to call me. By the afternoon of 12/4/25, no one from the office had returned my call. I called again on 12/4/25 in the afternoon and finally got through to someone. A nurse then did call me back, said she was unsure of what to guide me to do, but would follow up with Dr. Higgins and call me back. No one called me back. I eventually had to go to urgent care to seek treatment for the dermatologic issue that was worsening- and thankfully found relief. On 12/19/25, I called and left a voicemail for someone to follow up with me as I wanted to give my feedback and allow this practice a chance to make it right. By 1/6/26, I had not received any follow up phone calls. So, I called again (1/6/26) and this time asked to speak to the office manager. The front desk connected me to his voicemail. I left a message highlighting these concerns and asked for him to please give me a call. The entire week passed and by EOD, 1/9/26, still no one has returned any of my phone calls noted here.

Everyone in this office are so friendly and nice. The lady we saw was the best doctor ever. She talked to us like we were real people, and the assistant she had with her was super also. I brought my precious little friend in, and she loved the people there also. This place is simply amazing! 10 stars is what i would give them if I could.

I always feel welcome in the office. The staff are friendly and professional. I appreciate that they introduce themselves. Dr Higgins makes me feel comfortable as she is examining me. I highly recommend this office.

Dr Higgins is that rare combination of sunshine on a rainy day, BFF, professionalism and a wealth of knowledge all rolled up into an amazing dermatologist! I love seeing her. I would make up skin issues just to make an appointment 🤣. Love love love her!

Dr. Higgins is very friendly as are the nurses and front desk staff. I never have to wait long for my appointments. The only issue is that Dr. Higgins kept prescribing a cream that was not working for my DSAP, saying that she saw a difference. I did not. I should have been more assertive, but I guess I thought she was seeing something I was not. I think she’d have seen the fact that it wasn’t working if she’d looked at the pictures the nurse took at my previous visit, when she prescribed the cream. I’ve wondered if either she was sort of hasty in her assessment, or maybe since it’s a new treatment, the pharmaceutical company has incentivized doctors to prescribe it and she wanted to believe it was working. Either way the experience has caused me to lose confidence in Dr. Higgins. I will be finding a new dermatologist.

Took the time to see me even after I was late. Did not rush and really listen . Provide me with great solution and other resources to help me with my situation that day. The entire staff from the receptionist to CNA was very supportive. Awesome service

Dr. Higgins' practice is very professional and caring. My wife and I have been completely pleased. Dr. Higgins herself is very personable and knowledgeable.
