This place is fantastic! I got the a same day appointment, with little wait time in the lobby. Dr. Nickolai Talanin is the best dermatologist I’ve seen in years! He took the time to sit down and ask me questions and get my opinion on treatment options. The office was organized, clean, and set up very nicely. 10/10 will be back

I had a really awkward and unforgettable stare-down with Dr. Crystal Nwannunu that ultimately led to my decision of not returning. I analyzed all the possibilities as an overthinker, and the number one reason: I was late. I arrived at my scheduled 9:05am appointment at 9:16am. I was told by the receptionist that I'd have to wait around to be seen after those who showed up on time. Cool, not a problem. I was genuinely excited that there was a diverse clinical dermatology team near me, as I had done my research prior to scheduling an appointment. I didn't have many expectations, only really leaning towards making a decision on accutane. She came into the room, put on gloves, went over my face, and agreed that I'm a candidate for accutane. I proceeded to converse about my skin, but Crystal interrupted me talking to confirm whether I wanted topical or oral isotretinion, because she didn't want to do too much talking since her throat was hurting and she needed to go make herself some tea and get me those iPledge papers. Maybe I was talking too much? Maybe there wasn't enough questions? Maybe I was overly aware? Between her voicing that she wasn't feeling well, bleeding into the atmosphere of my appointment, to me no longer talking about my skin, and awaiting her expertise response, it came to a silence, where I was looking at her, she was looking at me, and the MA in the corner with his head down to his tablet.. imagine that! If you're wondering who broke the silence, it was me. Eventually, I backed out after reading the iPledge papers. She came back and it came to the point of her telling me to speak with her MA so he could collect my previous experiences as to what I've used on my skin, the history of my skin, and things that have previously shown success or may have not. I thought that should've been done outright, but everyone has a different approach. If it was a case of certainty around accutane, I could've easily been in and out, cause the appointment had flowed into giving me what I want and getting me out of there.. So maybe subconsciously I did have expectations of a thorough and personable experience. I waited around and told myself I'd give it a second-go, but again, ultimately, I've decided I won't return. I appreciate them allowing me to bring my bicycle into their office though, that was really accommodating. Also, they gave me some cleanser samples!!

Today I paid $250 for an examination here. Because my English isn't very good, I requested Turkish translation support via phone call. This service is available at every hospital or clinic I've been to, but this place wanted to charge me an extra $50 for it. This isn't fair, so I refused. We communicated using my limited English and a phone translation app. Four years ago, I had HPV warts and received treatment, and they went away. Now they've reappeared, but the doctor looked at them and said they were just sebaceous cysts. He spent 5 minutes making jokes and silly comments, and then sent me away without giving me any prescription. I thought this was a good clinic because it had 5 stars, but I had a terrible experience that I never expected. I wouldn't go back even if it were free. Because my English isn't good, I couldn't explain my problem properly, and I left feeling upset without causing any trouble. I don't usually like writing reviews, but I wrote this so that others don't experience the same problems. I hope it's helpful to someone else.

I just had the worst experience. Upon walking in, the receptionist did not even greet me. Any reputable business should take pride in customer service. Your customer should not have to the the first person to speak. The rude receptionist asks for my ID and I explained to her I forgot it my purse downstairs and it will only take 5 minutes to retrieve it. She explains to me that the time it’ll take will be outside of my 15 minutes and I will have to reschedule. Mind you, Dr Monet Thomas was still seeing another client so she was not even available to see me yet! Not to mention, the confusion it takes to get to this place. I would advise you to go anywhere else and make this place your last resort. I have never had this happen at any other medical appointment whether it be health, dental etc.

Had an amazing experience with Dr. Talanin. He was very quick and efficient and answered all my questions and concerns. I was running late because of traffic and accidentally going to the wrong office. Because it’s end of the year I was worried about fitting an appointment in since I met my deductible. They were so kind and able to accommodate me. Over the phone she informed me of the late policy and as I was rescheduling with the front desk after arriving at the office, Dr. Talanin went out of his way to fit me into his schedule even though I was running behind. I truly appreciate his accommodations because of my deductible circumstance. Had an in patient procedure at the Arlington office and also an initial consult with PA Alex Lepecha at the Chantilly location. I initially came to this clinic because of the amazing reviews and I’m so glad I did. Amazing care and would recommend to anyone that had any concerns. Very thorough providers.

I made an appointment through the online portal due to facial concerns. I was running about 3 minutes behind when I received a call from the condescending and rude receptionist. I explained to her that I was lost and needed atleast a landmark to find the location. (The place is hidden behind construction). She proceeded to give me vague information that was not helpful to finding the clinic and then stated that I had a 15 minute grace period. I made it in before the grace period and was told that I would need to reschedule. I mentioned this to the receptionist who proceeded to mention paperwork. I could have completed this at home if made aware. I am a clinician with a full schedule that needed to be cleared in order to make this appointment. The inconsideration, wasted time, and lack of care has deterred me away from booking another appointment with this clinic. Best of luck if you need help finding this place. You will only get attitude and misinformation.

I had a wonderful experience with my dermatologist, Dr. CRYSTAL NNWANUNU. She was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also kind and genuinely funny, which helped put me at ease. She took her time during my visit and made sure all my concerns were addressed thoroughly. As a Woman of Color, I especially appreciated how comfortable and respected she made me feel—her approach truly sets the gold standard for care that every patient deserves. Her inclusive manner is exactly how we work toward reducing health disparities in healthcare.
