Find another dermatologist. They were able to fit me in same day for an urgent visit, so I drove the 45 minutes to get there. Arrived 30 minutes early and used the eCheck-in like I was directed on the phone. Person at the desk just kept looking at me and saying nothing while I sat in the waiting room. When I asked if I would still be seen after an hour and 20 minutes of waiting, I was told I missed my appointment and wouldn't be seen.
I was hesitant to schedule another appointment here as on previous visits (years ago), the doctor brushed aside questions I had regarding diet. Their reply was just take the medication, that's all you need to do. Fast forward to today: I was told that if I wanted to be seen before February for an urgent concern, I would need to see my primary to confirm it is indeed urgent and I would be seen. I saw my primary and she confirmed was indeed urgent and if she had the right equipment she would get the scalpel out immediately. She put in an urgent referral. After jumping through this hoop, I called back to get a sooner date and was told that if the urgent referral wasn't going to get me into the schedule any sooner. In my experience, this place has no respect for the time or concerns of the patient. I gave this place too many chances because their location is so close to my house. My advice is to find a more professional group to entrust your health with.
I drove from Brownstown to this location to see the dermatologist. I have Lupus and have skin issues. Other doctors had given me various diagnoses but mostly Pickers Nodules and was told to stop picking at myself (like I enjoy being all scared up). I was told it was all in my head and when I said it itched, I was told it did not (who knows better if it itches or not). Female resident came in. Spoke to me for about 3 minutes. Then the female doctor came in. She gave me the same ointments the rest of them and she told me that I did not need to come back to her to just to see my PCP. Excuse me for not being there for botox or fillers.
I work near this office & I thought I would give it a try. I had some skin discoloration on my face. After all it was UofM, right. I thought, top notch service. Not in my case. After about a 20 min. wait, swoosh the intern came in. She talked for about a couple of minutes, but told me she couldn't recommend anything for me because she wasn't a full doctor. (my interpretation of her explanation) Then tha doctor came in. Repeated what the intern said. Both arrogant. They talked so fast, nonchalantly, didn't seem to be interested in my concerns. Condescending. Their Recommendation: Go to the store and buy a bottle of xxx. That might help. And swoosh, they were gone. I was very disappointed. Swoosh, last time I will be going there. I wish I could give negative stars.
Great experience here!! No wait time and friendly doctors who take the time to answer yours questions. Met with resident Dr. Marie Alexia Stoddard Lyndsey who made me feel comfortable. I felt heard and very welcomed by her. I left with a concrete plan I understand.
Dr. Wang took time and his own expertise to find a rare dermatological issue. He backed it up with lab work done at Mayo Clinic (this was after 3 other dermatologists had simply dismissed my disorder as eczema and given me creams that did not work). Dr. Wang cleared my skin beautifully and now does maintenance. I bless that man as I had truly been suffering.
Don't plan on being seen by a doctor anywhere close to your appointment time. I sat in the waiting room for a half an hour past my appointment and then 45 minutes in the exam room waiting to be seen. It's ridiculous to make someone wait that long AFTER their schedualed appoint time to even be seen by staff members.
