I go to Costco for the regular shopping list, secretly hoping to find something I want but absolutely don’t need. Now I live in aisle 47, next to the 8-pound peanut butter jar. I’ve built a life among the towering shelves, comforted by the glow of fluorescent lights and the knowledge that Costco’s return policy will never abandon me. I dodge people I don’t want to see by doubling back down aisles — only to run into someone worse. But that’s just the price of paradise!

I’ve been a Costco member for a while and I can confidently say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for both my household and my wallet. One standout feature is their commitment to customer satisfaction. The return policy is incredibly generous. I've returned items years later with no hassle, which gives me peace of mind when making big purchases like appliances or furniture. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the warehouse layout, while overwhelming at first, is organized and efficient once you get the hang of it. The bulk buying model is perfect for families or small businesses, but even as a single shopper, I find their portions reasonable and cost-effective. Their food court is amazing, where else can you get a delicious hot dog and soda for $1.50? And don’t get me started on the gas stations, consistently lower prices than nearby competitors save me a chunk of change every month. Costco’s membership fee is well worth it, especially with perks like their travel deals, tire center, and pharmacy services. Great Costco.

DO NOT ORDER WASHING MACHINES FROM COSTCO! They supposedly come with free install and haul away, but the contractor they use for delivery will refuse to install it unless your plumbing is literally brand new. They claim this is for "liability" reasons, and also that if you install it yourself or using a plumber it completely voids the warranty. So unless you're purchasing a washing machine for a brand new home save yourself the hassle and order it from Home Depot, which has largely similar pricing and better installers. This likely also applies for delivery of any other appliances that require connection to a water or gas supply including refrigerators and gas dryers.

This review is for one particular employee named Kaylee. I hope the manager of this branch sees this review. I have been a Costco member since it was Price Club, and enjoy shopping at Costco often. I stopped by to return an item, and Kaykee refused to do the return saying that the item was not on the receipt. A manager came over and confirmed that it was on the receipt, and I was able to return the item. I understand that mistakes can be made, but she was extremely rude, insisting that I was wrong, and did not even apologize! Not only is she a terrible employee, she is a miserable person. One of my family members had the same experience with her. Management should consider terminating her!

My sister and I visited Costco at Yorba Linda in Savi Ranch, and while checking out, the cashier, Liz (who has been working there since 2020), was scanning my items. I had intentionally placed my raw meat in separate bags to prevent any potential leakage from contaminating other groceries, as I always prefer to keep raw food separate. During checkout, Liz was speaking in Spanish about another employee. While I didn’t mind the conversation, she completely disregarded my request to keep my food separated. She piled my bread directly on top of the raw chicken. When I politely asked her to separate the items, she rolled her eyes at me. Additionally, while checking out my clothing items, she was dragging brand-new clothes on the floor while looking for a tag. I asked her to handle them more carefully, and she again rolled her eyes at me. Even when I wished her a good night, she rolled her eyes once more. At that point, I requested to speak with a manager and explained the situation. I had spent over $300 that evening, and I was very disappointed with the disregard for quality and customer service. It seems there may be a need for additional training for employees, including long-standing staff, to ensure that seniority doesn’t lead to a sense of entitlement and poor treatment of customers. Experiences like this can impact customer loyalty, and I hope this matter is addressed.

Even though there were a lot of people there, it really didn't seem crowded. I didn't find everything I was looking for, but that happens at Costco. They had moved everything around in the front of the store, and I'd guess that was done after Christmas, but I eventually found everything. Prices are usually low, and the Kirkland brand is high quality.
