Dentist in Winston Salem

Im very unhappy with the service of this dentist. I had 2 teeth pulled 1 healed up good the other is not healing went back waited 1 hour just for the dentist to come in and tell me he can't do anything for me very rude I will never go back and would not recommend a dentist. that doesn't do anything to help you after you have a tooth pulled at his office. After I got home I pulled out the part of tooth they left in and tried to tell me it was my jaw bone

My visit was excellent from start to finish. The office is clean and well-organized, and the staff is professional and friendly. Dr. Mooring and Khadijah are thorough and knowledgeable, and they always make me feel comfortable and well cared for throughout my entire appointment. I highly recommend this practice.

I've been here 3 times to get procedures done and I've been impressed with each visit! I am greeted with smiles a.d worryfree attitudes making you feel welcome. Very informative; they answered every question I had whether it was last minute. They made sure I was fully comfortable and talk me through the entire thing! Healing was great! I would recommend to anyone needing some work done! Update: I made that review at the beginning of my third procedure. Before hand I was a happy person! Afterwards not so much!!! They didn't listen to me at all, I explained how I can still feel the tooth itself being pulled and I can feel the tools digging I my gums. I was told "it's not a sharp pain then it's okay" I guess thinking I was being dramatic they proceeded and I jumped so hard when he pushed that first tool in my gums. I told him before he started that I could still feel in my mouth that only my jaw was Numb. He went on anyways.... Just a pulling almost dislocating my jaw twice and then acting like it was nothing afterwards.. I GET some teeth are difficult but that was done right uncalled for and I felt all of it. My other 2 procedures I was so Numb I couldn't even tell he was in my mouth, this time was the total opposite!!! Worst part... spending 2hours in CVS while they play photo tag trying to figure out the Dentist NPI to get the prescription 🤦🏿‍♀️. I would still recommend but be firm! Don't let them proceed into your mouth if you're not completely numb and comfortable! Ask for names and NPIs!!!

Other than posting another horror story experience, I choose to be informative: This Office appears to be undergoing a DENTAL ASSISTANT STAFFING STRIKE/ WALKOUT as of 1/30/2026 !!🤕 .... The ONLY DENTIST in the building is literally running back & forth between (9) Patients who waited up to 2 hours (outside of their appointment time) to be seen, with another (5) Patients on standby waiting in the lobby, and the receptionist on the phone CANCELING APPTOINTMENTS ... When I first came here a few months ago, they were Well- Staffed, numerous Dental Assistants (particularly female) very friendly and efficient, but somehow they've all disappeared ?!!🤔 and the ONLY REMAINING STAFFER is a Male Dental Assistant who's running around like a chicken with no head !!... They're rushing Patients outta the office after being seen Whether done - Half done - or Half dead 💀.... Practically throwing Patients out, offer them a thimble full of gauze pads, and a Keep It Movin' attitude!! Not sure what caused those Nurses to STRIKE/ WALKOUT but, I would strongly advise, if you're looking for safe, efficient NON RUSHED - PAIN FREE dental care, find another dentist, because something is clearly going wrong at that place ?! 😨

I can write my experience being "okay" with a question mark. I only been to this dentist two times, one for an X-ray and my last visit was to get two cavities done (a filling). Issues with one worker: My first visit, I met with the front desk worker who was also the lady that will do my x-rays, she was not the friendliest and was very rude to my mother. My mother was in pain and she told her to stop moving like she couldn't "stop" then when she did my x-rays, she was not gentle with putting the items in my mouth. She kept telling me "bite down" knowing I was having difficulties, is like she did not care or did not want to be at work. I remember her being a dark skin, short girl with glasses. I refuse to have anything done to my mouth with her. Issues with scheduling: My second visit I had an appointment at 10:30am, I have done my scheduling online. When I visit the place, the front desk lady- a lovely Hispanic lady, said I was not on the list, even when showing her on the website and the text messages that I had confirm my appointment, she said the company is having issues with the website and Ai was confirming people's appointment automatically but it is not the front desk doing the confirms- I thought I had wasted my time by driving up to the place, I had my mother to talk to the lady since she was the one who helped me set my appointment because I did not want to wait to get my cavities done. Issues with no showing x-rays during filling: The doctor was working on my mouth (only thing that was painful is the doctor gives you too much numbing but better safe than sorry) after he was done with my fillings, mind you- he said I had only two cavities, once he had walked out my room, his assistant wants to schedule me another appointment to get my last cavities done, MIND YOU he said I had only TWO not THREE. So, I did not want it to be like my childhood where dentists would make up anything to keep you for coming back. Why didn't the doctor mention I had three instead of two and why did he walked out and not mention it to me personally ? I am not sure what is going on or what to believe. The dentist office environment is okay and welcoming with whos working today (there is one white lady and one Hispanic lady who are both nice and makes you feel welcome, the doctor is alright, and theres only one worker who is the rudest to avoid.) So overall, my experience here is okay. Make sure to make appointments through phone or in the office and make sure to ask lots of questions about your mouth and ask to see x-rays and mirrors of your mouth.

My very first experience was that I had an appointment that was confirmed texted me only to rearrange my entire schedule and find out they were not open that day. I finally get an appointment was put on penicillin until they could see me. I had a broken tooth extracted which was without doubt the worst most painful experience I have ever had. I have had wisdom teeth impacted removed other teeth pulled, crowns, root canals and cleanings so I can speak from experience. After I left even though he said they were trying to rinse out the infection they didn’t give me more antibiotics. A lady I could not understand called me from another city a week or two later I told her then I needed more antibiotics. Heard nothing. Pain continued from the extraction site so I went to urgent care to get antibiotics as the pain started radiating into my ear. Been on those antibiotics for a week not much better. Tried to call to be seen you can never contact the office directly so again I made an appointment and they are not open. So I get another call same lady can’t understand she is in a separate city to tell me once again I have booked an appointment that doesn’t exist and they can’t see me until January. I’m pretty sure I have dry socket and following the treatment I got a fugal infection called angular cheilitis from pooling saliva. I have taken so many antibiotics and ibuprofen my stomach burns and hurts. Stay as far away from this place as possible. You will think you have appointments when you don’t. For an extraction like I had it should be mandatory to give the patient something like gas or partial anesthesia. It hurts to my jaw bone and it still does. The follow up person you can’t understand at all and doesn’t do anything even when you tell them you have a problem and need antibiotics and I heard nothing not no we won’t give you antibiotics or you need to be seen and why would someone from high point be the contact for an office in WinstonSalem? The appointment app doesn’t communicate with the office so they book appointments when it’s closed it’s a real S-show. The appointment app told me to find someone else, lol I sure will!

I had an amazing experience. I have PTSD from a traumatic dental experience years ago and today the staff was so nice and welcoming. They made me feel so safe and comfortable. Dr. Mooring was funny and nice. He also explained every step what they were doing as he went along. I got a tooth extracted and I feel so much better.
