To say that Whole Pet is an amazing place to bring your fur babies is a gross understatement! Every person here cares as much about their well being as you do! The smiles up front always make me feel comfortable as soon as I come in. All of the techs will take the time to get to know you and your pet and your pet will love them! Dr. Calo is the coolest and nicest vet ever! He’s so knowledgeable and explains things carefully and easy to understand. He has seen all of my pets and they all love him! Everyone here really goes out of their way and it shows! In the pictures is my chiweenie getting her laser treatments on her hips and joints and she actually enjoyed it! She is the only one I have a picture of at the vet, but I have 6 total animals I bring here and I would entrust Whole Pet with their lives! All of my dogs enjoy coming! In the past, all of my dogs were difficult to have anything done with a needle. But here, they have absolutely zero issues! Even getting blood drawn they actually don’t flinch at all! If you have any question about if you should come here, don’t hesitate to call them. You won’t regret it!! Thank y’all so much for everything y’all do! 🩵🩵

Hands down the best vet I’ve ever been to and I travel with my frenchie, so we’ve been to many. Dr. Calo clearly cares about your pets well being, more than trying to take advantage of you (like so many vets do). He listens to your wants and comes up with the best solution for you and your pet. The appointment never feels rushed, everyone is so nice and very knowledgeable. Nathan is also great… makes you feel at home and gives you a piece of mind with his personable and sweet personality. They make you and your pet feel like family. Just a great place all around.

I love this Veterinary group! We started with them in Davidson, NC just as Dr. Sheehan opened the practice and then when we moved to the NC coast and moved our dogs to the Wilmington location. Kind, thorough care! Love having the holistic options available.

I’m quite pleased with their services so far after 4 visits this 1st year. It’s very neat, sanitary, cozy, & welcoming, inside & out + the customer service is good. I most love that they’re a holistic vet, they take the Care Credit card which enables interest free payments at least 6 months when spending minimum $200, & they’ve had a much less expensive price so far for such a major cost as the echocardiogram my cat needed. Like with other vets seen locally so far, I just think we should be able to get a substantial discount when they know we have many rescued pets. My many photos aren’t loading but maybe another time!

I HIGHLY recommend Whole Pet vet! They checked me in and I went right to the back for both visits with my girls. They do not judge if you choose to not do all vaccines and I love their holistic approach. The vet techs were especially sweet with my girls. We love our new vet!

Whole Pet Veterinary Hospital: Brooke’s Gentle Touch for Waylon Whole Pet Veterinary Hospital turns vet visits into delights, especially for our rescue Pit Bull Terrier, Waylon. Veterinary Technician Brooke’s expertise and warmth make every appointment—wellness checks to treatments—a joy for Waylon and his parents. Waylon’s recent allergy shot was Effortless: Brooke’s calm handling kept him relaxed, tail wagging, while her allergy management tips eased his home life. Stress-free care that builds trust. Five stars for a team that cherishes pets like family. Thank You! Ken, Jane and Waylon Elliott

It’s a shame google doesn’t let you give 0 star reviews. I had an appointment today at 1:30. Whole pet is about an hour and a half from my house. I had an acupuncture appointment for my dog who can barely walk. While my ETA was initially going to be 10 minutes early, road work near my house and then an unexpected amount of traffic only a few miles from the vet increased my ETA to be 7 minutes late. I called at 1:34 pm to let her know I was only 1.7 miles away at the light but that I was (obviously) running a little late because traffic wasn’t moving so I kept missing the long traffic light. She asked how long because they were understaffed and the acupuncture is a timed service (it takes a few minutes to put the needles in and then my dog has to sit for approx 20 mins and they come back and take the needles out per my experience at other vets - the vet isn’t in the room the whole time this is a quick service) I told her I was right down the road and should be there in a couple minutes. She called me back at 1:37 as I was pulling in the parking lot and said she can’t take me. I told her I drove an hour and a half to get here and my dog can barely walk. I told her I’m in the parking lot and she still said no. I understand that I was 7 minutes late but never in my dogs 15 years of life has a vet denied seeing him when he was clearly in pain. To add to this, the last time I went to this vet I had an appointment at 11:00 AM and the vet didn’t come into the room until 11:29 AM. (See screenshot of text I sent to my husband) so I highly doubt that, had I gotten there at 1:30, that within 7 minutes they would’ve had my dog in a room and gotten started on him. So I just drove 3 hours round trip, the refused to see him, and my dog is still in pain. But let’s back up a couple months, to the most important reason you should reconsider bringing your pet here. I moved to NC from NJ in October. This was the closest holistic vet to me I could find. My dog has kidney disease, heart issues, cancer and some other ailments. I scheduled an appointment for whole pet to take over the subQ fluids for his kidney disease. The vet asked me if he was coughing at all. I said yeah actually at night he does. He said before we do fluids that we need to do an echocardiogram because the coughing could indicate a more progressed issue with the heart. After we did the echocardiogram he confirmed that he had some early stage heart issues but nothing that needed medication and to recheck him in 9 months. (See photo) But, he never said anything about the hacking at night? He confirmed that what he thought was causing it wasn’t the case but didn’t recommend any further testing or scans to figure out why he was coughing. This made me uneasy so I scheduled an appointment with my vet back in New Jersey around thanksgiving, and she was confused and said why didn’t wholepet suggest an X-ray? So of course, I had an X-ray done in nj and sent it out to a radiologist for review where they found the cancer metastasized into his lungs causing the hacking and coughing at night. (See photo) Thank GOD I went back to his vet in nj. If I had listened to wholepet my dog would be suffering with no treatment. While I clearly can’t trust wholepet with any diagnostics and more complex treatments, I thought I could at least trust them with acupuncture, until they turned away my senior dog who’s in pain today for being a few minutes late, when they know damn well they wouldn’t have attended to him within 7 minutes anyway. Who knows, maybe it was a blessing in disguise. Maybe I should’ve listened to their clients who warned me not to go there. (See photos)
