H Mart Wheaton

Please be aware that the scale in the fish section appears to be inaccurate. After purchasing salmon labeled as 3.75 lb net weight, I reweighed it at home and found it to be only 3.11 lb including the packaging. I also weighed several other items for comparison to confirm that my scale is functioning correctly.

I arrived on a pretty busy Saturday so parking far away was better than trying to get a closer space. The large shopping carts were a little too big for most isles as it was difficult to navigate if two people were shopping in the same isle at the same time. That being said I absolutely loved everything I purchased from here. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. Lines weren't long even on a busy day and everything was clearly labeled and organized. I only wish the smaller shopping carts were an option.

My first visit to this location it was pretty busy on a Saturday and afternoon parking was tight. Right when you enter they have a small bakery with Soft white Japanese style bread! And some cakes, pastries etc. You have to pay for any baked goods here, it’s separate from the grocery. The hot foods dining area was pretty small. They seem to offer like eight different types of soup. They had some premade dishes available here. I picked up a couple onigiri, marinated eggs (fully hard boiled), seaweed salad A+, and some pickled ginger A+. As for the grocery shopping Tons of options of miso and kimchi, noodles, dumplings, ramen, galore. I picked up a few kinds of dried kelp, some wakeme and some kombu. All of the fresh fruits and vegetables were really impressive. They had tons of different types of mushrooms and it was pretty cool to see some variety packs available. Lots of fresh durian, even small already cut and prepped. The meat and seafood areas were impressive as well.

Great place for fresh produce and meat. Since it’s a Korean market, there may be some products or brands they don’t carry that you’d normally find in a Southeast Asian market (for that I recommend going to Hung Phat Grocery a mile up the street near the Wheaton station). H-Mart isn’t cheap, but their produce is definitely of higher quality and they have a wider selection you can choose from compared to other markets. Definitely check their weekly ad for deals. Note: Non-Asian products such as cereal, soda, etc. that you’d normally get at Safeway or Giant are overpriced at H-Mart. Don’t go to H-Mart for those types of items.

I cannot express how amazing these stores are! -The produce is always fresh and tasty -They always have the snacks and treats you see online and want to try lol (I got the viral Mango Ice Cream and a Pink Pineapple here!!!💕🥭) -The meat is well priced and good quality -The food court is amazing and fun to navigate with fresh baked pastries and hot foods If you’re in any town and see an H Mart I’d HIGHLY suggest stopping by and seeing what you find!❀

Ample and excellent supply of Asian (and other cultural) food. Good amount of parking (unless it's peak shopping time). Great fish and wonderful seafood selection. You can find snacks, soups, dumplings, and veggies galore. Staff is very business-oriented with little time to chat or help much on some days.

I have been regularly purchasing fruits and vegetables from this store. However, during my recent visit, I bought two packs (12 pcs) of mangoes that appeared really fresh on the outside but all were unfortunately rotten inside. I wanted to bring this to your attention so that you can ensure better quality control in the future. Thank you for your understanding and attention to this matter.
