West Des Moines Dental Center

My kids love this dental office. From day one they have developed a wonderful rapport with me and my kids. Dr. Edwards is kind and really good with my kids. Our male hygienist has been patient, encouraging, thorough, courteous, pleasant, and has explained things well. I feel I can ask questions and have things explained to me in a way both me and my kids can understand. My kids look forward to going there and having their teeth cleaned. We’ve gone multiple places over the years due to moving and life events and this place BY FAR has been the best! I’d recommend them to anyone. I’d give them 10 stars if I could!

I normally hate going to the dentist, but my visit today completely changed that. Emily and Manny were absolutely wonderful. Emily took the time to answer all of my questions and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the entire appointment. Manny was very helpful and attentive, and they both really listened to my concerns. Overall, it was a great experience — the best dental visit I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

Employees and doctors are really good. Very nice and courteous. All knowledgeable and willing to work with me, especially when I need emergent or care that needs to be "worked in". (The reason for one lost star): The only negative has nothing to do with employees or doctors; it’s the business style by the conglomerate that purchased the practice some years ago. They emphasize and stress (via long message on your chosen communication) before each visit the financial expectations, penalties for missed visits, etc. That is never an issue for me, so I feel a little offended, like I am a child who doesn’t listen. But because we have been going for years, I continue. I do wish they would have us sign once for our file that we have received this information and develop an alternative process for those who are problem payers. (It might be a law, but I’ve never seen this with every visit in Iowa by other medical/dental practices.) The health service and care are excellent. I recommend these dentists.

I was very comfortable with my Dr. Emily McCalley. I’m a new patient trying to navigate my way through what needs to happen and what could be a good solution for me. She talked me though each choice I could make and what those outcomes would be. I was glad she left the final to me without guilt.

Today, I had a great experience at West Des Moines Dental, where the hygienist, Patty, was excellent, providing a thorough and comfortable cleaning while offering helpful tips. The dentists and support staff were equally exceptional, demonstrating genuine care and professionalism that made the visit stress-free. I highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking top-tier dental care with a genuinely supportive and skillful team. SJS

Front desk staff were welcoming, friendly. Hygienist was knowledgeable and caring. The dentist was fantastic in explaining and making a plan. Overall I was very pleased with my first visit. I can only hope my future visits are just as good. Going to the dentist is hard, they all definitely made the visit easier.

I love the staff at WDM Dental. I am always greeted warmly and my appointment is on-time. They ask about and address all of my concerns. I have never had anyone suggest a procedure that was unnecessary. I am a stay-at-home-parent so I have been bringing my son with me since he was a baby. They are very accommodating to pause when needed or have someone available to take him out during X-rays.
