The actual visit was my first time visit with this dental practice. It was the preliminary visit and all very polite and professional. This is the 3rd dental practice I have dealt with as an adult and after I separated from the service. The first I was with for decades until the practice closed after the dentist died. The second was a good but short tenure due to insurance company issues. This is the 3rd practice and my 1st actual visit to them. All were very nice, seem very competent and are also the most convenient to my residence. I expect to continue for a long while but more to come eval wise.

Let me just say this. I’m terrified of dentists ok. This dentist was an hour away from me..I struggled to find a dentist who took my insurance, when I called Ms. Diane was absolutely a gem! She walked me through everything and explained how their policies worked ! Today was my first visit there. I had to take my daughter . The staff was incredibly sweet! My two techs that did my X-rays let me say I was listening to one teach the other in such a gentle way ! I love that for them! The dentist checked me over and explained everything down to the T of what’s needed , what he’s gonna do at the next visit and referred me to a dentist who specializes in root canals !!! Never knew such dentist existed . Overall I give this place a 10/10 on every aspect they were clean, friendly, thorough , and very much so family oriented ! Recommend it to anyone !!

I called at least 20 different dentistries in the area trying to find a place that accepts my insurance. Finally one of the places I called recommended Virginia Family Dental to me. The receptionist who scheduled my appointment was very nice and was able to get me in the following month and I was really happy to finally find a place that not only accepts my insurance, but could get me in within the year (yes, YEAR! It's been that difficult). When my appointment time came, I don't know what happened, but my calendar never notified me, and I completely dropped the ball and missed the appointment. It's very unlike me, as I'm usually very punctual and never miss my appointments! I do have ADHD and sometimes I guess it just happens. I had a very busy and stressful work week, so I wasn't able to call them back to reschedule until today. When I did, the receptionist told me that because I missed my first time patient appointment, they don't reschedule for those. I apologized and wanted to explain, but it didn't seem like she was interested in hearing it, and said that I didn't even give them the courtesy of even calling the day of to let them know I wasn't coming (I didn't realize I missed my appointment until that evening after they closed). I explained that it was difficult to find anyone who accepts my insurance, and she said that they're a busy office, and that's why they don't reschedule for no-call no-shows. I apologized and thanked her, and she promptly hung up. I was left feeling some type of way about it, I'm not gonna lie. That whole interaction felt really cold and uncaring, but I understand that that's their policy. Just keep in mind that if you want to get in with them, you can't miss your first time patient appointment or else they'll refuse service to you. I'm feeling pretty hopeless about finding a place that'll actually get me in and really regretting missing my chance. Rating 3 stars because the first lady who scheduled my appointment initially was very nice and I'm sure it's a great place if you can get in.

Everyone that worked there was really kind and polite. The two women who worked at the front (Diane and Jen) were fun to talk to and down to Earth. The office was very clean and everyone was very professional. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

I am currently waiting for the dentist to call because the receptionist are very mean. The day of my first appointment I was potentially going to be late because of a train I live in Ward’s corner. I called to notify them that I might be a few minutes late, and they told me that they were canceling my appointment. My appointment was for A exposed nerve in my mouth and I still have this exposed nerve. I have been dealing with an exposed nerve since September 2025 and in December 2025 I have been referred out by this dental office twice. I have gotten on the phone with the dental association of Virginia and they notified me that I cannot make a complaint against the actual office. I have to make a complaint against the dentist. I still have not seen a dentist since September. I am God-fearing and I will not put in something against a dentist because I believe this is the dentist reception office that is failing. I just wanted to express my experience with this office because it has happened and it is still happening. I am a very nice person and I feel like every time I call I am put on defense due to the negative interaction that I am met with. I highly recommend another dentist office if you can get one. So, my husband made an appointment with this business for us. Almost everyday they called when they had a customer cancelled for us to come. We informed them that the date we had was fine with us. Nonetheless, they called another time and we didn’t pick up. Fast forward to a month after scheduling our appointment. I called them to verify my appointment date and time as it was suppose to be either Nov 20/21. First the lady was unable to find my name in the system because they spelt it totally wrong. So she found me by my date of birth. I was then informed that I missed my appointment the Monday and they wished me the best finding another dentist. Okay, that’s fine, however, the time they were busy stalking my phone day in day out about they have cancellation and if I could come in. Why not call me to remind me of my appointment? I believe my date was purposely changed. Not to mention they lack proper phone etiquette. I should have known this would be a mess, because when I called to schedule it was a mess from the very beginning. They need proper customer service training. By the way, i was paying for my service, it wasn’t free!!! So, i have no idea why your office act as if it was a favor you guys was about to give. SMH! -- 💜**Update:** Initially, I considered deleting my comment; however, I wanted to leave it up for anyone who may face similar issues in the future. This experience truly reflects what professional service should be. I reached out to the manager, who encouraged me to contact her directly. I did, and I was pleasantly surprised by her polite demeanor and prompt resolution of my issue. Her customer service was exceptional! I highly recommend that anyone facing a problem reach out to the manager. She listened carefully, understood my concerns, and resolved the matter efficiently. 💜 Problem solved! 🥰🫡

Hands down such an incredible experience. I didn’t take care of my teeth for most of my 20s so cosmetic wise I am very embarrassed. Not once did anybody there point out a specific tooth that has serious issue. They used codes which made me feel more comfortable. I explained how I get the anxiety but when it comes to dentist and they agreed to help ease that anxiety. I’ve been putting Off going to the dentist for over 4 years and I’m So upset with myself right now because today’s experience was honestly filled with laughs and smiles. * just had my second visit and hands down the best dentist I’ve had the opportunity of using.
