A terrific shopping and ready-to-eat dining area with new finds all the time, especially in the dried fruit/savory and deli counter. The bakeries here is not at all markets and is spectacular! The international boxed candy selection is also outstanding. Be award of expired "best buy dates" -- we find them regularly. Jon's honors refunds on them. Plenty of good cheer among the accommodating staff and plenty of free parking outside to make this destination-drive worthy.

I started finding expired products more and more often. The last time I saw sausages here were six months expired (Herb and Parmesan salami). I asked to remove them from the fridge, the employee did it, but when I came next time for my favorite sausage, the expired products were there again! I asked to remove them again, but employees tried to convince me that 1. it was a series number or something like that, not best before date 2. it was a sample that they don't sell. What nonsense.

I like Jon's. It's a smaller grocery store that features some foreign foods, mostly European ones. The chain is local so it gets some good deals on local produce. They also have good deli deals from time to time. They often have a hot food service counter (BBQ, etc.) inside. Aside from that, this store sells hot beef, chicken, and pork tamales for $2.50 each - yum! The parking lot is pretty full at the busiest times just before dinner.

They have all the Herbs n Spices that just makes my Food Pop ! ! !

Be careful when you buy the packaged raw meat or seafood. I purchased a packaged raw salmon fillet. when I removed the plastic wrap film, immediately a salmon fillet smelled rotten. Probably what they do is any unsold items are placed in new containers, wrapped, relabeled, and sold again. Especially, seafood does not last long however they seems careless or cut the corner. Absolutely unsafe food handling practice is going on this place. I wasted my $8.14 plus no dinner at the night. I can't trust them anymore. I will never buy again. The company should retrain worker or hire someone else has a food handler certificate and able to handle strict food safety.

Dangerous customer service!!! Today around 10:45 I bought beef shank and small piece of ham. I came for pay at the line #1, "For 10 or less items ". Cashier Christina served a woman who had more than 20 items. I told the cashier that if this woman can't read, then you, as a cashier, need to explain to her that this line is for "10 or less items." The cashier told me "It’s is OK." Then the woman decided to change the canned goods. She went into the hall and brought 6 small cans of Tune instead of 3 large ones. And all this time we were waiting at the checkout. I couldn't wait any longer and left without buying what I needed and wasted my time. The store manager was not there. And this is not the first time. I have been going to this Jones #2 on Van Nuys very rarely after the Super King store opened, where the customer service is much better, but now, after this, I will not go there at all, thanks to cashiers like Christina.

If you need a terrible experience then you should go this store especially if you look a different way. I have been going to this store for years but they hired a security guard who behaves different. I have noticed on more than three occasions this guys following me around the store. He literally stands in front the checkout stand that am using. I made a complain through their website and no one seemed to care.
