I was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy on January 22 after my symptoms started on January 21, and honestly it was one of the hardest experiences I have gone through mentally, emotionally, and physically. I work in the ER, and although I was sent home with steroids and antivirals, I still felt lost because many of my questions were unanswered and no one could give me a clear reason why it happened. I was told it could have been triggered by a virus, stress, or lack of sleep. Before starting acupuncture, the entire right side of my face was completely paralyzed. I could not smile at all, I could not close my eye, and I had to tape my eye shut every night to protect it. Watching your face change like that is incredibly hard and scary, and it affects you emotionally in ways people don’t always understand. After finishing my steroids, I decided to start acupuncture with Dr. Lanie Quan, and I truly believe I came into the right hands. I am currently on session six and the difference has been incredible. My face now looks close to normal again, my movement has improved so much, and I finally feel hopeful in my recovery. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Lanie Quan and her team for supporting me through this journey and helping me through my Bell’s palsy recovery. I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy on August 4 and saw two different doctors for help. I was prescribed a 7-day course of steroids and antivirals, but unfortunately, I didn't notice any improvement. I am now on my 7th session (out of 10), and I am so happy with the results--my face looks normal again! The progress I've made through acupuncture with Dr. Lanie has been incredible. Came in with severe nausea and high bloodpressure. I do not take any medications due to any side effects they might have. This office was helpful explaining the consultation process and made me feel very comfortable before and after treatment. The acupuncture is painless and the environment is soothing. Communication is clear with Dr. Quan and her knowledge in acupuncture along with integrative medicine is impressive. During the first treatment nausea stopped and only has returned mildly and less frequent. Im hopeful that more treatments will align and detox my body. The staff is understanding and caring. Dr. Quan and her team are the sweetest. They’re always welcoming, super helpful, and explain everything so well. I started seeing them for anxiety, TMJ, and overall emotional balance, and I honestly feel better than I have in years. They really listen and make sure you’re comfortable the whole time. If you’ve been curious about acupuncture, I can’t recommend them enough—they’re amazing! In my opinion, she’s worth the 1 hour drive each time!
