My dentist recommended that I see a periodontist biannually as a precaution and suggest Dr Chung. All of this is out-of-pocket. Every time I went I felt I was being tag-team hustled between him and the hygienist. Both my dentist and I are aware of pending issues with a molar and will address them when needed. The hygienist insisted that the tooth behind that molar was cracked - a subsequent check by my dentist indicated it was not. Dr Chung identified an area of inflammation and suggested additional treatment beyond the usual antibiotic shot - to the tune of $1800 or so, then insisted I sign the estimate when I refused. The antibiotic shot fixed the problem. When checking out, there’s no itemized explanation- just hand over the credit card. The next day I get a phone call saying they forgot to charge me $75 - for the annual gum analysis- which they didn’t do, at least in any way they’ve done it in the past. Because I wanted to be done with them, I paid it - only to discover a few months later they never forwarded the report to my dentist. So for that $75, I’ll take the time to let people know about their untrustworthy business practices.

I have been seeing Dr. Chung for over a year now for gum attachment problems relating to 20-year old implants. This is not an easy fix with a clear answer. However, Dr. Chung does not give up. I'm confident I have the best professional in my area for this problem. PS: He's kind, compassionate and listens, plus generous with his time.

Over the course of a year he performed a complex and delicate multi-step implant proceeded to replace the teeth. He partnered with a cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Schkovsky, and the results are incredible and gorgeous. Plus I never spent a single day without teeth. Definitely the best periodontist in Fairfield County!
