The Chas service coordinator is literally the worst. The lady on the phone PURPOSELY scheduled me with a provider that wasn't on my insurance. I told her I needed an emergency extraction and she was almost laughing at me. I swear to god. I went to my appointment and was turned away because they weren't on my insurance. I had no idea she did that until I went in. I will be taking legal action against Chas, as this is the second time this has happened over the course of 3 years. Absolutely ridiculous. Thank god I have a good family attorney. If you're scheduling an appointment, make sure they are FULL TRANSPARENT with you.
The first time I got my cleaning in deer park it went well, my second apt I scheduled to address a specific concern. The women I saw said I had two cavities that needed filled when my problem was an exposed nerve. Upon the follow up visit I was scheduled with a different dentist and she said she didn’t know if I had cavities or not but could fill them anyway. Definitely made me uncomfortable and uneasy and I won’t be back.
I’m giving 1 star because 0 stars was not an option. I came into the dalke location this morning to have a tooth removed. Dr. Shiba Shiva whatever gave me my shots and then seen a note in my chart saying that I an extra hard to numb. He decided to give me more numbing medicine and then about 2 minutes later tried to mess with my teeth. I asked him to please wait the 10 minutes it needs and takes to fully numb before trying to extract because I am interning at apple valley… so I do know you have to wait at least 10 minutes for numbing to kick in fully (from the last shot given). He refused and said the tooth was unable to be taken out and that I should have my mouth and tongue fully numb by now? I left crying. I have no clue when my next appointment is or even what to do next. I’ve been a patient of CHASs for over 18 years now (since I moved to Washington when I was 11) and am looking for a new dentist and primary care. I do not mind mistakes being made… or even not being able to get a tooth extracted or worked on but what I won’t stand for is a dentist who doesn’t hear or listen to their client or follow procedures. It’s been about 20 minutes since my appointment ended and my entire mouth and tongue is numb (which is what he said I should have been feeling 2 mins after my shot). So the issue of me being unable to numb really isn’t an issue at all… all it took was a little more time or even just the recommended time for numbing to work. Not that it matters to anybody else but the dentist is very traumatizing to me due to childhood trauma from a dentist so you may only see tears… but you never know how someone is feeling or hurting or what their going through. A little kindness and compassion goes a long way…
I’ve been going here on and off for 7 years but this place is only getting worse. Would be fine if we were allowed to directly call the front desk at the dental clinic. Instead, they make me call a generic scheduling number where I talk to someone who doesn’t work in the clinic and has no clue what patients require. And they won’t direct my calls to the front desk even when they see they can’t help me themselves. Every time, I get a rude lady on the phone who can only see if I have an appointment. She can’t see if my scheduled doctor called in sick and they’re trying to make me see an alternate dentist I’ve never even met before (I have certain health issues requiring specific care and need the same dentist each time). I now have to borrow a car and drive to the dentist office every time I need to speak with the people at the front desk. This is a waste of my time and I really want to find a new dentist office. The whole Chas system is messed up and there is zero empathy or thought for their patients.
I had several cavities due to HG in my pregnancy. I finally found Chas to fix them all for me. They did a phenomenal job, always made sure I was comfortable. Did a perfect color match with the fillings and shaped them perfectly. Highly recommend!
Asked me to reschedule my appointment, which I was willing to do I understand people call out schedules change. But they had chipped my tooth at my previous appointment and told me they would fix it at my next appointment. When I came to said appointment they fixed the chip but refused to do the work I was actually scheduled for because "they didn’t have time" (fixing the chip took under 10min) very frustrating as it was their previous mistake and I had rearranged my entire day around a different time because of rescheduling my appointment
Keep in mind I have HORRIBLE anxiety about the dentist to begin with. I just came from there and that was the most traumatizing experience I’ve ever had at a dental office. To start things off let’s go back a few days, I had to have a broken tooth extracted. Now my teeth have long roots too begin with and for some reason it takes forever for the numbing stuff to take effect. Anyways, the day of the extraction, the broken tooth was being a pain and took a bit to come out. When it finally came out the dr showed it to me and as expected was long rooted, was jagged and had 2 small cysts on it. Also this is and upper tooth by the way. Anyways, the day after the extraction I start rinsing my mouth with warm salt water and I notice that the water is also coming out of the the nostril that is on the same side as the tooth I had taken out. I start having some minor pain, not thing too bad. I take some Ibuprofen it goes away for a few hours. Later on in the evening I get this pain that feels like someone is shoving rusty nails up in the extraction site. I take more Ibuprofen, I use an ice pack. I wait a few hours…. NO RELIEF. That night I didn’t sleep, I didn’t fall asleep until 5:30 the next day! The next couple days go like this…. No sleep PAIN ……PAIN……PAIN …….PAIN…… some slight relief…..SEARING PAIN…….PAIN……PAIN…..no sleep…. 5:45AM FINALLY fall asleep Last night I’ve had enough, I make an appointment with my dentist for my he next day. I wake up to a voicemail saying that my dr is sick and I need to reschedule. Ok, I get rescheduled with Dr Bishoy Galil. I go in, tell them what’s going on, and they say they are going to sew it closed. They put the numbing gel on , THEY DONT EVEN WAIT TIL THAT TAKES EFFECT BEFORE THEY STICK THE NEEDLE WITH THE OTHER NUMBING STUFF IN IT. THEN THEY DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT EVEN WAIT TIL THE NUMBING STUFF TAKES EFFECT BEFORE THEY START PACKING THE ALREADY PAINFUL EXTRACTION SITE THEN SEWING UP!!!! I CAN FEEL THE SEWING NEEDING IN MY GUMS AS HE IS SEWING IT CLOSED! I AM MAKING NOISES LIKE IM IN PAIN AND ALL HE IS DOING IS TELLING ME TO MOVE MY HEAD THIS WAY AND THAT WAY!!! I left that office shaking and in tears! I sat in my car for 15 minutes just crying because of how traumatized I was. I WILL NEVER SEE DR. BISHOY GALIL AGAIN! AND ON TOP OF ALL THAT, I DIDN’T EVEN GET ANYTHING FOR PAIN!! After I got home I contacted my doctor and told her about the whole situation and was able to get some medication for the pain. On a side note, My regular dentist, Dr. Lines is Amazing!! !! UPDATE !! TODAY (the day after I went through all that) THE SUTURE FELL OUT!! SO I BASICALLY WENT THROUGH AL THAT TORTURE FOR NOTHING!
