A few weeks ago, my dog ate something harmful off the street during a walk. At first, we didn’t realize how serious it was, but he became very sick and constipated. Watching him in pain was heartbreaking. When we brought him in, Dr. Gahra took the time to really listen and examine him carefully. It turned out he needed surgery, which honestly terrified me.What meant the most to me was how Dr. Gahra explained everything. He didn’t rush through it. He walked me through what was happening, what the surgery would involve, and how he was going to treat my pet. The way he spoke was calm and reassuring. It made me feel like my dog was truly in caring hands. I’ve been to other vets before, but no one comes close to the level of communication and compassion I experienced here The staff was also incredibly friendly and warm. From the front desk to the assistants, everyone made a stressful situation feel a little lighter. They treated us like family, not just another appointment. My dog is recovering now, and I’m beyond grateful. Thank you, Dr. Gahra, for your patience, your honesty, and the genuine care you showed. It really made all the difference.
HOSTAGE TACTICS: Withholding medical records and price-gouging meds! This clinic is unethical, unprofessional, and possibly violating veterinary regulations. First, their medication prices are exorbitant. When I tried to order my pet's prescription from a reputable online pharmacy to save money, they ghosted the request to force me to buy from them. But it gets worse. I have decided to switch clinics, but they are now effectively holding my pet's health history hostage. I paid for TWO X-rays at this facility, and despite multiple requests, they refuse to email me the records. Even when my NEW vet clinic contacted them directly to request the files for continuity of care, they ignored them too! They are happy to take your money but refuse to release the medical data you paid for. This is dangerous negligence. Do not trust them with your pet's care. Update: Response to "False Review" Claim The owner claims this is false. It is not. For your internal records, refer to Invoice #60705 from 11/16/2025. I paid for two X-rays regarding my pet's condition, which you are still withholding. Claiming a paying customer is "fake" instead of solving the problem (releasing the medical records) is exactly why I am filing a formal complaint with the California Veterinary Medical Board.
Here goes you set an appointment time arrive on time you are seated in a room. We then waited for 40 minutes to be seen as the doctor was sitting in the back room on his computer. We get tests and then more waiting about another hour just sitting. Then sent home no medicine 1100 bucks. Next day go back dog is worse they say they dont know just wait again. Everything will be fine give it some medicine and we shouldn't worry. Poor dog died that night. Long story short they dont tell you if your dog is gonna die dont even try going here. They are money hungry. I have lost 2 dogs here and should have known. They veteranians are inexperienced and I got alot of We dont know lers try this medicine. I highly dont recommend this place and I have spent thousands on my dogs here. My recommendation to Silicon Valley Pet Clinic is to be more upfront with your customers about the state of there pets and also fix your wait times and overcharging people.
I started taking foster cats to SVPC in 2023 because they were close and their regular exam fee is very affordable. I have gone multiple times with different cats for different reasons, from basic wellness exam and vaccines to emergency surgeries. Overall the care has been good. One doctor in particular, Dr. Damian Pavlovski, is very good at explaining his concerns and reasoning for recommending certain treatments or tests. One foster had urinary issues, so he did an ultrasound and then brought me back to show me the imaging and his interpretation. The foster later had a surgery that went well for a different issue (blockage after eating non-food items). A different foster had physical trauma before coming to me and was breathing strangely so I took her in and he did xrays. He showed me the xray and explained that something looked strange but needed additional xrays with a special contrast to confirm. After those xrays he was able to confirm the issue, explain it to me, and schedule the surgery for 2 days out (the only option). Another doctor also worked with me during this process and the follow-ups and both were upfront about prognosis and things that could impact surgery success and recovery. Overall the actual care has been good. There have been issues on the clerical end a few times that have been inconvenient but not a big deal to me personally, like the wrong itemized invoice being sent to me and my invoice being sent to someone else, or a small charge that was supposed to be removed that I didn't notice til later (they fixed it when I showed them). A couple times I have had to call or email to request follow-up on test results that were sent out, but they are usually quick to get back to me once prompted and otherwise will send them directly.
I was a client in 2024. Today I submitted an appointment request via the website during business hours and the website stated to expect a call in 30 minutes. After 45 minutes, I texted the line that I communicated with in 2024 to follow up. With no response from that, I tried calling twice, but both times the call dropped right away after one ring. I saw something about Google Fi on the screen so it seems like they are using a call screening service that blocks my calls each time. This is an unacceptable situation when no form of communication is possible to request urgent care for an existing client. Edit: I read the response and appreciated the explanation. I received a call from the clinic at 4:36pm asking what time my appointment for today was scheduled for because their system was having so many issues that the appointment did not save. Even though I was apprehensive, the clinic remained professional and pleasant and explained that there have been technical issues. Thank you for trying your best in spite of challenges.
Dr. Gahra has been very assertive and mindful on all the treatment he prescribed to Molly on the last 3 years she has been her client. Every time we visited his clinic worried about Molly’s health he has been very clear and emphatic with us during every step or procedure. I couldn’t be more grateful to this clinic, from the staff and the vet, more than once my lovely Molly has been brought to life after visiting them. Thank you for your hard work is really appreciated and for taking care of my Molly. She will turn 14 years old next September 💖
This vet is a scam!!! They tried to charge me $500+ for a simple ear infection in one ear for my dog. I took my boxer/pit mix for an annual exam and check up for an ear infection. My dog has had an ear infection before in the past and with our previous vet ear medication was given as well as an anti bacterial flush solution and the infection resolved in a week. I come here and explained what has worked in the past for my dog and Dr G. told me they need to keep my dog for a few hours to run tests and to sedate him for a proper ear cleaning!?! They also wanted to give him 2 unnecessary injections. I let them know my previous experience working with animals as a veterinary technician and how most things added were not necessary and they automatically took $400 off my bill. I only paid for the medical consult and ear ointment and within a week my dog’s ear infection was fixed without all the necessary added things this vet tried to bill me for. Definitely only a place that cares about money and not for animals well being. I will not be back.
