Digital Smiles-San Pedro

First off, Dr. Ussman is a great dentist who ALWAYS tries to do right by his patients. The office staff, from assistants to reception, are also always great, friendly and warm. Whenever I get a teeth cleaning I get detailed feedback about how I could improve my care. But I have to take one star away for what I perceive as a constant attempt at upselling. I was presented with bills/contracts to sign that included expensive items without my knowledge, but were deemed "necessary" by either the doctor or the staff. Those items were explained to me after request, so it's not like anyone tried to scam me, but I still think it's a bit dishonest to have certain items in a bill without anyone asking me BEFORE a bill is printed and presented for my signature. This has led multiple times to me having to pay more than what I originally thought I would pay, since insurance doesn't cover everything. My advice for patients would be to always study the bill in detail before signing and asking for clarification. My request for the dental office would be to tell patients upfront if there's items not covered by insurance, before treatment starts. Transparency is important. Again, it's a great office quality-wise. Just double-check the paperwork.

The San Pedro office is clean, warm, and full of amazingly helpful people. Dr. Ussman's assistants were very friendly and thorough. Dr. Ussman himself, is not only compassionate but also very knowledgeable. After creating my dental plan, Karen did everything she could to help me finance my treatment. They have a ton of options and work with you to get you the treatment you need. I have never had such a positive experience at the dentist before. Everyone made me feel comfortable, safe, and taken care of. Digital Smiles cares about its customer's teeth and wallets.

I have never visited a dental office that has been as wonderful as this office. The staff is outstanding, so caring and kind. Dr Ussman is incredible. He was so informative, and answered all our questions. He was so compassionate and kind during the procedure always asking if I was comfortable and pain free. If you need a dentist this is the place to go. Thank you so much to Dr Ussman and his wonderful staff!

New patient, I really appreciate Jessica walking me through the x-ray process and telling me each thing that she was doing while we were taking x rays. Dr. Usman did a great job in explaining my best options and what he felt was best for my teeth. 🙂 Thanks Digital smiles, as a person who can find dentists a bit intimidating—this experience has been very positive.

Karen at the front desk is awesome and the Dentist has done some great work and worked with my Insurance and worked with payments for my out-of-pocket cost. Great job with Cleaning today. Hygienist was super thorough. I have anxiety with Dentist and they’re great about keeping me calm Dentist are top-notch great work.

I brought my 95 year old mom to Digital Smiles for treatment, and the care they provided was truly above and beyond. Dr.Ussman was patient, gentle, and compassionate. Karen, the financial coordinator also helped us with getting her treatment started with no hassle. You can tell they genuinely care about their patients. Highly recommend Digital Smiles.

Went in for a regular cleaning. The Dental Hygienist was extremely thorough.I’m impressed she took her time with each area of my mouth. Coffee drinker here but she really went at the stains. My teeth feel great!
