I would like to thank Sonrisas Dental Health and everyone who works there. The entire team is extremely friendly and always greets patients with a smile, providing the best possible care. My son’s appointment was very quick and highly efficient, and we felt truly well taken care of. Congratulations to the whole team for their professionalism. I will definitely recommend Sonrisas Dental Health to all my friends.
I am extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency at Sonrisas Dental Health. After my son's cleaning, I was handed toothpaste with no mention of a price. I assumed it was a standard sample, but was later billed $20. I explicitly refused to pay this undisclosed charge at my son's next visit. However, during a subsequent appointment for my son, the office took advantage of the fact that my husband was there instead of me and charged him for it. He paid it thinking I had agreed, which was not the case. Even after explaining this to the office, they refused to issue a refund. For a non-profit that claims to remove "financial barriers," charging $20 for a surprise item and then refusing to fix the mistake is very unprofessional. Watch your bills closely here.
Always a good experience here: compassionate professionals, clean clinic, and fast/efficient service.
What a great place! What a great experience. Thanks to the team for being so kind and compassionate. I appreciate Dr. Laurie for her outstanding care for more than a year now and for educating me on my diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care. I love the way she explains any technical information and given me different options. I never felt any pain or discomfort during the procedure. Everyone on the team is friendly and most careful during covid-19 and, I felt safe.
I was a patient of Sonrisas Dental for over 6 years. My impression was largely positive until I was slapped on the wrist by a dental hygienist and noticed false information in my dental records which the Dental Director dismissed and the CEO ignored. During my visit in January 2024, the dental hygienist attempted to record a pulse and blood pressure reading but the cuff sensor wasn’t working. The hygienist became upset and told me it wasn’t working because I was moving (I was staying as still as possible). After several attempts and wasted minutes, I began to take the cuff off my arm. The hygienist responded by slapping my wrist. At my next visit in July 2024, I was unfortunately assigned to the same hygienist. I thought it was interesting that the hygienist did not attempt to take a pulse or blood pressure reading this time. While waiting for the dentist's examination to begin, I noticed the hygienists copying and pasting data into my chart. I thought this was odd and requested a copy of my chart which listed cleaning details which had not occurred and a fictitious pulse and blood pressure when no reading was taken. Section 1950.5 of the Dental Hygiene Board of California Laws and Regulations states that Unprofessional conduct is defined as, but is not limited to, any one of the following: (q) The alteration of a patient’ s record with intent to deceive. (z) Knowingly making a statement or signing a certificate or other document that falsely represents the existence or nonexistence of a fact directly or indirectly related to the practice of dental hygiene. I summarized my July 2024 experience for the Dental Director but his response was dismissive. He did not address the concern that knowingly entering false data, no matter how inconsequential it may seem, has no place in dental or medical practice and erodes trust. He did not think it was important to ban the entry of false information or discipline the hygienist. I also emailed the CEO who chose not to respond. I will be filing a complaint with the Dental Board of California and the Dental Hygiene Board of California, and I urge everyone reading this to stick with a reputable business and avoid Sonrisas.
Had the same dentist for both of my kids. It was our first time there and he made them both feel comfortable. He took the time to explain details to my youngest that no one has ever done before. The fact that he did this was hugely helpful to ease my son’s nerves! He booked their follow up appointments right then and there too. I am so grateful to have found this place! I wish I had his name written down so I could give him a shoutout on here. I think he was of Asian descent and on the younger side ( under 50). Oh! The assistants that helped take their X-rays + support the dentist were so personable too! It’s been a whole day and I am still impressed. Helpful advice to parents taking two or more kids at once. Be sure to really understand the flow of where ( or where not) they want you in the building due to Covid-19 restrictions. I kept toggling between the two kids and ruffled a doctor’s feathers ( which means I likely annoyed him by not paying attention to their setup). I have a deep respect for their safety and felt bad I wasn’t paying attention to that.
Everyone there was great. Very polite and thoughtful of our child. They made her feel comfortable and relaxed. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Loved that they were practicing Covid protocols from beginning to end.
