I had a disappointing experience with this office, primarily due to the attitude I received when asking about a billing question. I received an unexpected $200 bill in the mail for a procedure my insurance didn’t cover. When I called to ask for clarification, the woman I spoke with was rude and condescending. Early in the call she asked, "What do you want from this conversation," in a way that felt dismissive rather than helpful. She frequently cut me off and made it difficult to ask basic questions. Given that billing issues are already frustrating, this kind of attitude in a customer-facing role is unacceptable. After reading other reviews, it seems this is not an isolated experience when it comes to billing inquiries. In addition, I had a routine filling done and had to return three separate times post-op to address issues with it. Even after those visits, I was left with a lingering ache, which I’ve never experienced with fillings done at other dental offices. Most of the staff I interacted with in person were friendly, but the phone interaction and the unresolved dental issue ultimately soured the experience. I paid the bill, but I won’t be returning.

I had a fairly disappointing experience with their after hours call centre. The lady was extremely rude and decided to hang up on me when I asked whether she was from South Beach dental or some other company which just takes their calls. I've decided not to go to this dentistry because of that experience. This was a few months back but it was such a bad experience that I had to write about it. I know now that this lady is not south beach dental but I do think they have a responsibility to make sure any company they contract aren't complete jerks. I would rather an automated phone line for me to leave a message or tell me to email the real dentistry than another human that is extremely rude to do the exact same thing.

Perter lai has been my trusted dentist for past 20 years. I now live in redwood city, but still coming to SF to get treatment from him. He is awesome! I never felt pain after any procedures. He has magic hands! In addition, the office team is very efficient at making emergency appointment and followup calls. Highly highly recommend this team!

I’ve been a patient with this practice for nearly 14 years, but after dealing with unnecessary attitude from one of the front desk women when asking simple billing questions, I’m calling it a lifetime with this one. I was quoted extra charges because one of my exam benefits was used during a separate visit for a filling, yet when they schedule you for a filling, they only quote the filling cost and the co-pay amount you have to pay in order for them to schedule the appointment. An exam is considered a separate service yet it is never mentioned during the filling appointment as a separate billable service. When pointing out how they could be more transparent about additional services performed during a filling that the average patient would think is included with that appointment, I was met with attitude, unnecessary facial expressions, and it took another employee to intervene and explain how and why my benefit was used. She explained it very simply and gave me the option to opt out this visit so I wouldn’t have to pay the additional charge. Unfortunately the other woman’s behavior left me a bad experience and the desire to no longer do business with this practice and find another provider. Hopefully she will realize as consumers we have a choice where we can spend our dollars and her treatment of patients can lead to a loss of business for those who own this practice.

I have been an extremely satisfied and happy patient at South Beach Dental for many years and hope to continue this relationship. Fantastic and friendly staff and excellent dentists!

Dr. Lin was excellent. He checked and provided details which is so helpful. He did a great job cleaning my teeth. I am totally satisfied with his customer service and professionalism.

SO lovely. I felt so cared for! The Doctor that worked with me at my appointment on Monday the 4th was very kind, knowledgeable, and so relaxing. Apparently he is semi-retired now, but I would love to work with him every time. I got super lucky this appointment, but have never had any issues or complaints about any of the services I have had at SBD ever. Always top notch. Thank you!
