Great experience! If I had not moved out of the area, this would be my dentist for life. Great staff, friendly, reliable, honest, and caring. They are affordable and flexible! I highly recommend them.
Smile By Us is by far my best dental experience. I went in with some shooting pains, only to realize a root canal and new crown would be needed. During a holiday week, the team went above and beyond to get me scheduled the next morning, have a temporary crown made, along with rush ordering a permanent crown to be put in before I left for an international trip. Z, Lucy, Dr. Joe, and the front desk staff were exceptional. They were thorough, communicative, and made my experience a very positive one. I could not recommend them enough. A couple weeks later and my mouth is feeling better than ever. Thanks again!! 10/10
Excellent staff and office. Z in particular went above and beyond my last visit to assure my permanent crown would arrive before I had to travel. Record time - she is amazing with her work as well and is the ‘crown master.’ Thanks Z. Dr. Joe is always great, answering questions you have and giving good advice on what to do. Takes his time and provides excellent care. He surfs too which ups the review beyond 5 stars. Front desk Tiffany always greets with a big smile and she rules. Bryant as well and is always super helpful and there when you need. They got me in on the above crown issue ASAP and out of all the dentists I’ve been to they are hard to beat and you can’t go wrong going with them as your dentist. Lucy is also great and is an epic cleaner of your teeth. Seriously having all the staff be super personable and friendly makes the experience pleasant - which can be on oxymoron going to the dentist. Thanks team. - Travis
I am so impressed with the team. I’ve never had such a positive experience going to the dentist before. I came in for a cleaning and learned that I have three cavities that needed to get filled. They were able to schedule two separate appointments for me in the same week. Dr. Joe is amazing. All of my appointments were pain-free (even the numbing shot wasn’t bad!), quick, and easy. Dr. Joe is very humble and clearly has a lot of experience. He paid close attention to my teeth and found even the smallest cavity. Z and Lucy were also really amazing assistants. They also gave me a referral very to an oral surgeon very close by for an impacted wisdom tooth consultation. Lastly, the front desk staff are super friendly. This is my new go-to dentist. Thank you!!
Update: After seeing the dentist response to my review and getting a second opinion, I gave my visit some more thought. I realized that almost every issue here was the hygienist. I would give them another try, but I don't want to ever interact with her again. Tl;dr: total bait and switch. They don't perform cleanings at appointments for cleanings and want to charge you more than your insurance permits for everything. Then they ghost you if you argue. The only dentist I have been to that was worse than this place literally pulled out my wisdom tooth without numbing me all the way. So believe me when I say I know bad dentists. While I didn't have any pain here, that's because I didn't end up getting ANYTHING done. I showed up for a cleaning, the receptionist completely ignored me for five minutes while she was on the phone. I did not even get a look or acknowledgement that I existed. Then she checked me in and tells me there's no fee for the visit under my plan. The hygienist took my x-rays, then the dentist came in for an exam and told me I need a crown because I have a severe tooth crack (which I never noticed at all 🤔). He leaves and the hygienist then goes on to tell me that I can't get my teeth cleaned now because it's too close to lunch so they're all stopping work. She goes on to say I need a deep cleaning because it's been "so long since my last cleaning." And I'll need to pay extra for flouride because my insurance doesn't cover it. It was only 6 months since my last cleaning and I'm pretty sure every dental insurance company covers flouride. She tells me she'll get back to me on the price after I argue these points. Then she tells me my insurance only covers metal crowns, so I should pay more for ceramic. I tell her I'll think about it. She calls back to reschedule my cleaning a few days later and continues to tell me I need to pay $80 for irrigation and flouride. When I tell her I already irrigate with a water pik and my insurance covers flouride. So she again said she'd have to look into that for me. She then tries to schedule the crown and pushes me to pay extra a ceramic crown. When I tell her I checked with my insurance and they charge the same for metal and ceramic crowns, she gets quiet and tells me she'll check on that too. I then asked her for a copy of my xrays so I could get a second opinion. Surprise, surprise, she never sent those and never called back about the cleaning or crown. If you want to throw money in the toilet, go ahead and go here. Otherwise, go somewhere where their entire goal isn't to scam as much money as possible from you.
I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Joe and Z! After years of avoiding the dentist and bent-up anxiety, I’m so glad I found them. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel comfortable, and completely at ease. They were incredibly patient, explained everything clearly, and never made me feel judged for the time I had been away. Both Dr. Joe and Z are not only true professionals, but are also some of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve ever met in healthcare. They truly go above and beyond to make their patients feel cared for. I can honestly say they’ve completely changed the way I feel about going to the dentist. 10/10 would recommend.
I went to them after my temp insurance listed them as my primary dentist. I had a filling that needed to be done on a tooth that hurt, so I went as soon as I could. While there, the staff was super nice and friendly and I did enjoy the atmosphere of the office. However, once I was seen by the dentist (I forget his name, sorry), he told me that I had a chipped crown on my lateral incisor (which my old dentist had told me about, so I was aware), and that it needed to be fixed IMMEDIATELY, or else the tooth below might get infected and need to get pulled (which my old dentist did not say). I was a bit skeptical about the urgency of the matter, but the dentist insisted, then had the hygienist come with a payment plan, which said that the crown would cost me about $1300 out of pocket because "[my] insurance only covers metal crowns when they're not molars, and [they] don't do metal crowns." (Convenient, eh?) I was super skeptical of this but figured it likely was true, but I politely said I'd try to find the money, and they were a bit pushy about how they have a payment plan available, and would I like to scan the QR code to see if I would be approved for it? I said no, I'd make an appointment later, then scheduled the filling I came in for. I also got a $100 medicine that did nothing for a gum recession I later learned I didn't have. Well, luckily for me I got better insurance through work unexpectedly, went to a better dentist, and wouldn't you know it? My chipped crown was NOT in any danger, it would be fine unless it chipped further, and the likely reason insurance wouldn't pay is because it was a "cosmetic" reason, AKA, not necessary. (The new dentist didn't say that last part, I read between the lines). Basically, what I'm trying to say with this long review is that they straight up lied to me and used scare tactics to try and get me to pay $1300 for an unnecessary cosmetic procedure. And if I hadn't been fortunate to get an unexpected promotion at work that let me get better dental insurance, I likely would have done it to get it over with. Since I honestly had believed that the crown needed to be replaced soon, even if the urgency made me skeptical. There were many other things that made me skeptical of this place, but this review is already too long, so I'll leave it here. TL:DR: Don't trust "Smile by Us" (or is it Smile Plus?? I legit don't know) Dentistry. They use scare tactics and lying to get you to pay exuberant prices for unnecessary procedures. The two stars is just because the staff was genuinely nice, even if I don't trust them.
