I sought out Dr. Nick for a second opinion on one thing but I keep returning for care because the knowledge he has and the quality of care the entire office provides is incredible. The entire staff at Nick Yiannos' office works to ensure the best possible outcome for each individual situation. Dr. Nick is honest, kind, and always studying about the latest science in dentistry. The office staff is warm, inviting, and works so hard to answer any of your questions. If they don't have the answer or can't perform the procedure, they have a trusted resource, in the area, they can refer you to. Seriously the best dental care I've ever received.
Dr. Nick has been my Dentist for over 12 years. Going to the dentist is almost like hanging out with your family. Everyone has a great attitude, they are happy to see you and want to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Dr. Nick is both knowledgeable and someone with a great personality. I always feel like he honestly cares about whatever I need. As I get Older, it is important to me that I have caregivers that really CARE. I would highly recommend Dr. Nick and his staff.
Friendly & diligent staff!! They do a great job scheduling appointments and cleaning my teeth. My gums were in poor shape despite using the Water Pik; however, I was not flossing bc I was told by a hygienist in another state that the Water Pik was as good as flossing. Well, I learned that is definitely incorrect. Dr. Yiannios did a PRF and laser procedure on my gums, and it totally improved my gums. Later, he also replaced an old crown. I was fairly apprehensive about changing it out. But Dr Yiannios did a great job!. Besides being a little sensitive to cold water for awhile, there was no pain, discomfort, etc. Im glad I trusted his advice amd got it taken care of when I did. Im also flossing everytime I brush now. For some reason, I build up plaque quickly, so I come in for cleanings every 3 months as opposed to just every 6 months. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr Yiannos!!
It took me a while to finally decide to write this review as it's been almost a year since I took a very long trip to get the tmj treatment offered here. There is a previous review from a few years back by a guy named Andrew, and all I can say is that he is spot on and I basically experienced all of the same issues and problems that he had afterwards. I want to preface this by saying that I was having a lot of pain and tmj issues going into this appointment, so I was definitely not feeling great at the start, but I was hopeful and not expecting to get even worse - unfortunately that's exactly what happened just like the other guy. After the treatment my neck and back had even more pain and I developed neurological symptoms in addition - including very loud tinnutis, ear pain and fullness, sound sensitivity, vertigo, dizziness and nausea almost constantly now. Even though I read his review before and was aware of the risk, I was desperate looking for a solution to get out of pain and you will try anything to get better. I proceeded anyways against my better judgement and sure enough it made things worse. I will say that the Dr is knowledgeable about TMJ dysfunction and really does understand the science behind all of this and interpreting MRIs, which is impressive as most general dentists have no clue about it. However the treatment is very expensive and feels a bit over the top for no guarantee of success. Obviously there are no certainties when dealing with the body and medical procedures, but you should be aware that if you are spending this kind of money over 10k, there is a chance it can not work at all and can even make you worse. If you already have a bad bite, narrow palate, or some type of malocclusion such as a cross bite - this is likely to not help at all. The mouth is already in a compromised state and messing with the occlusion seems to make things even worse. Every time you make an adjustment to the teeth or bite, it affects everything all the way through your face, neck, back and even down to your feet. The mouth is intricately connected to the autonomic nervous system also and that is how you end up with all these random, seemingly unrelated symptoms out of nowhere. I'm not sure what the solution is for these TMJ problems but I will echo again what the previous reviewer said, please think twice before doing any procedure that alters your bite drastically such as removing enamel from teeth or adding composite to them. Even microscopic adjustments have the ability to change you're entire mouth and make you feel completely off. The postural chain start at the jaw and any changes in the mouth can be felt everywhere in the body. The other thing to consider is that if you are visiting from far away, this is basically a 4 day treatment where you will not have the ability to follow up for future visits easily. So basically if the treatment doesn't work, you're just out of luck after the 4 days and left to continue on with TMJ problems. They try their best to help during the procedure, but after you leave you're just basically left to fend for yourself if things don't work out. I wrote this review not with the intention to bash anyone, but to potentially help desperate people with TMJ problems who are looking for a quick resolution to their problems. I'm not sure what the fix is for this horrible condition, but be very careful to not rush into something that is irreversible. If something seems too good to be true, it often is and there does not seem to be some magic cure for TMJD, especially one that is supposedly done in a few days. Best of luck to you.
This dental office is an incredible team of professionals all around. From the office staff to the hygienists to Dr. Nick himself— I cannot say enough good things about my experience. Looking forward to finally treating my TMJ. The level of care and service is unparalleled.
I traveled from Albuquerque NM to see Dr. Nick. I understand why people come to see him from all over the world. He is the model of what patient centered care in allopathic medicine and dentistry should aspire to. He is on the cutting edge of technology yet doesn't let it replace the power of human connection in an atmosphere that is welcoming vs the anxiety that is tied with "going to the dentist." His entire staff have a very tight, caring , teamwork centered vibe that make you feel like you've known them forever. He balances objectivity with compassionate care like no other and everyone in his office hold those same regards. I never felt more trusting of a dental or medical practice than I have with Dr. Nick and his staff and would travel back if needed. It's a shame that his standards aren't the common norm everywhere. Especially in dentistry and with patients who fall into the despair of chronic pain that feel hopeless and caught in the web of failed treatment outcomes. He is a disrupter of stagnant, poor-outcome, and cookie-cutter medical and/or dental practices while improving diagnostics, treatment and positive outcomes.
Dr. Nick is top notch. I can rely on him to tell me honestly what needs to be done and to also have the expertise to do it or refer me if necessary to other top notch practitioners. He is caring and attentive. Clearly he keeps on top of his profession. My husband and I drive 2 hours each way to see Dr Nick. Certainly there are good dentists nearer to our home, but none at the level of excellence as Dr. Nick.
