Safeway

Today I was shopping at Safeway on Woodside Road, Redwood City. Luis was the clerk who assisted me at checkout. He was so friendly, he smiles and he treats you really nice! What a great employee! I hope that management treats him as nice as he treats his customers! He is awesome!!

Nice Safeway but too small for a pre made cake selection from the bakery, had to try elsewhere. Another larger store didn't have much either, I certainly hope Safeway isn't cutting back in this dept, they're my go to.

Rude, and unreliable. Google maps said they close at 2 we tried to go in it was closed with employees inside on their phones i called and the customer service man to ask what time they close bc I’ve been here before around midnight, he said "well uhhhhh its google" then hung on me when i just called to ask if they were actually closed😭

It says they close at 2 AM but it’s really 12 AM. Otherwise, it’s a pretty small Safeway (one of, if not the smallest I’ve seen). But it’s decent. If you need something, they probably got it or at least something similar.

Its a smaller store on the plus side not to many people in the am. Will still find a decent selection of everything but not as many specialty items.

This Woodside Safeway has really diligent and friendly staff. Not just one person, but almost all of them. I live in Los Altos and have work to do in Redwood City in the morning, so I come here early in the morning and they always have the meat that is on sale that day. It's amazing. And this morning, the cashier was so friendly. I didn't have time to clip the coupon, so I clipped it when I paid, and she helped me and told me it was okay, and she was so friendly until the end that I was so surprised and touched. I think this branch deserves an award from the head office. The above review is from 11 months ago, but I was so impressed again today that I updated my review. Today, I was looking to buy Dungeness crab, and a man who seemed to be the manager of the meat and seafood department kindly explained everything to me, so I was able to buy it with confidence. It was only 7:40 in the morning, but he was already diligently working and even taking the time to explain things to customers. I'm always impressed every time I go there. Thank you for helping me start my day happily.

The staff is very friendly and generally very knowledgeable. As a semi-professional shopper for others, I would keep an eye on the baggers bagging appropriately. Examples of inappropriate bagging, bagging chemicals with food items and occasionally bagging hot deli items with frozen items. This location is also smaller than others so it doesn't carry a lot of specialty items but it does carry the essentials.
