Western Dental Center: Dogra Gautam DDS

I paid for my son's treatment plan (our copay portion after insurance) for work to be done by appointment. Our insurance ran out in December and due to numerous rescheduling by Western Dental the treatment plan was unable to be completed in time. I requested the funds for the work not done to be refunded to me in December. I spoke to the office manager fellow Cody. Cody assured me that I would get my $136 returned by February. I called in February, Cody told me the books were "being done" and it would be March. Then April. It's now July. I called a few days ago and Cody relayed the message to me that I would not receive a refund for the dental work not done and that "insurance denied it". I called the insurance company after that and Delta Dental told me they have nothing to do with that and it's Western Dental that took the money, so Western Dental must refund it. After this bologna I took my son to a different dentist. It turns out that none of the six cavities charged to me were real, they did not exist. Western Dental took my money for work that did not need done, and when they couldn't complete the fake treatment they won't return my money. Stay away from this place.

IMO they are preying on the mentally ill. This place is terrible. My average wait time was 4 hours. The average time between appointments was 6 weeks. It should be criminal What they do. They basically hold your teeth hostage and try to Extort you and your family members for money for unnecessary services, such as trays for gum treatments, not covered by any insurance.

I made an appointment for my 3 year old son for Chico. I took off work and drove an hour to get there only to be told my son could not be scene because they didn't have a pediatric dentist. I asked to speak to management because I clearly gave the representative my son's birthday along with his age two times and that it was unexceptable for them to schedule an appointment for my son and not see him. I was told at 8am in the morning that there was no management there and honestly I feel it was because management didn't want to take any shame for it or any responsibility. They did nothing to resolve the situation except show us the door. I called Western Dental to resolve the issue they told me that he would be rescheduled at Chico the same day at 2pm. I called the Chico office because how could my son be scheduled at Chico if there wasn't anyone in pediatrics available to see my 3 year old. Reception told me that we were given the wrong information and that my son could of been scene by someone. The level of anger I felt in that moment I honestly raised hell on the phone. I feel bad for my 3 year old son and how they denied him service. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone because this is not my first go round with them I have also had a very poor experience with them. They scheduled me for my wisdom teeth only to be told they couldn't do anything for me 3 hours later. I clearly told them I needed surgery along with paperwork and pictures from a former dentist on what procedure needed to be done only to be told 3 hours later that it was a waste of my time and they couldn't do anything although they will be sending Medical a bill for everything they did within that 3 hours. I feel for people in this area because it's hard to find dentist that are professional in this area especially when it comes to Medical. However I wouldn't recommend Western Dental.

They called last night to advise me their specialist was in today and was able to schedule an appointment because my root canal just got approved by my insurance. I appreciate that they called me as soon as possible to get the procedure done. They did a root canal in an hour and they did great. I accidentally thought my appt was an hour earlier than scheduled however they got me in within minutes because their regular appt did not show up. Customer service was excellent! Only suggestion I have is suction more during the procedure and the after taste lasted for hours.

I have had dentists and hygienists during my military career, while employed with a Fortune 500 company, during a four year stint with the State of California and now through Medi-Cal at Western Dental. Western Dental is not state of the art in dentistry. Yet, the staff is professional, courteous and competent. I have no complaints. I've edited this and reduced the rating from 4 to 3 stars. I have periodontal disease. My dentist and two hygienists said I should get the "Periodontal Tray." They all said $900. Except it is not $900! It's $1,200! $900 only covers the actual 'trays' created from a mold of my teeth. The trays last for five years but are useless by themselves! You need the 'gel' and other accessories which is an additional $300! So, why can't the staff be forthright and tell their patients what the cost actually is? Stop saying $900 when you know it is $1,200! I am retired on a fixed income, I prepared myself to spend $900 and was surprised at the $1,200 actual cost. I do not appreciate being misled! Though I need this I now have to reevaluate my budget...

I would rate this place -1 if I could. The reception there is amazing. unfortunately the service stops there. After waiting for an hour and half for our scheduled appt, our 3-year old run out of the waiting area in to the open area where they treat multiple patients. The assistant Kelly snapped at my 3year old for the few seconds before I got to her. I made a remark of she has been here since 9:15, it was almost 11 then. She only has so much patience in one confined area. She made a huge deal. after that, all the employees in the back starting to give us dirty looks. When its time to be treated, Shirisha Budaraou (who I made no comments to whatsoever) gave us no service. Came in with a huge attitude, no smiles for my 3 year old. Didn't even bother to lay her chair into the correct position, jerked her face around with the dental mirror, then told me she is unfit to be treated. (my baby girl did amazing at the dental xray and took instructions great. she was not afraid of the dentist and she thought was fun for a bit. ) Not once, she told my daughter to stay still or trying with her. complaint to the branch manager Jylle (who is being preped by Kelly), all she can tell me is their bad attitude dentist can do what she wants. Nothing she can do. My 3 hours gone with no service.

Won't go back took two and a half hours to re-cement a crown all that time to figure out I had to pay 15 dollars. Xray tech told me always figure 2 to 3 hours for any appoi tment. Wast of time
