South Lake Dental

From the moment you park your car in a large parking lot right in front of this beutiful dental office, you set high expectations. Starting with nice welcome smiles from employees. Waiting area was modern and spotless clean, they definitely value hygiene in here. Office was busy, but you couldn't here loud voices. My next position impression-professional environment. Not too long after I met Dr. Balikyan. He made me feel very comfortable, explained plan of care, he didn't rush, didn't sell and made me feel important. But his skills is the reason I am writing this review. My case was complicated, but he handled just fine. Going to dental office is not my favorite think to do. But if necessary, I found Dr. Balikyan. Thank you very much for my positive experience.

Being new to the area, we did our research by walking into 3 dental offices to see how we were greeted by the staff and how they answered our questions. South Lake Dental was our choice! First off, my husband entered the wrong door and the Dentist, Michael Balikyan, was very friendly and showed him the receptionist desk. Both of the women at the front desk were extremely kind and helpful. The office is very clean, well run, and state of the art. Michael Balikyan, DDS, does not try to push any extra dental procedures and his staff are all very personable. It is a well run office!

The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, Pat and Noemi (?) get 5 stars ☺ My dehtal hygienist Hilda is very detailed in doing dental procedures and communicates good suggestions to improve my dental issues. Dr. B is a blessing: always friendly and pleasant. I have been going to So.Lake Dental for decades and altho some staff members are new, thay are excellent.

My hygienist Erica was gentle and knowledgeable. Caught some issues before they became big problems and provided appropriate recommendations. She always makes my visits painless!

Have never loved going to the dentist so much!! All of the girls in the office especially Pat are so welcoming, kind, and helpful. Makes going for my monthly Invisalign appointments fun, not something to dread. For as long as I live in Pasadena/LA~ this will be my dentist office and couldn’t recommend it more!!

South lake dental has taken care of me for years. Super professional and friendly folks who go above and beyond. Highly recommend. Shout out to Erica!

This location is very greedy, especially if you don’t have insurance. I had a tooth that needed to be extracted (and I had an infection). They treated me like I was the lowest of the low--and even tried to charge me an outrageous debit card fee! (They waived it when I raised an issue about it--I paid $960 out of pocket for this procedure). As far as positives go, the dental hygienists/assistants are very hospitable. Michael Balikyan extracted my tooth--he did a very great job estracting it and I felt no/little pain, but he also exacerbated a cracked tooth by knocking on it with his scalpel, then telling me I needed to come back to fix it (so they can take more non-insurance money, I'm sure). I appreciate the painless extraction, but I will not be coming back. This place is greedy and especially hostile towards anyone seeking care, and they'll try to charge you for using a debit card.
