DR.M.Zaida Carbajal Dental Practice

I came in to ask if they accepted my insurance and not only did they confirm they did but they fit me in same day (I was experiencing dental pain that was increasing) then took x-rays and even began filling my cavities! Very nice and accommodating. The staff is friendly and best of all - no more pain!! Thank you Dr. Carbajal for fitting me in immediately and making what could be a scary process quick and easy. I hope to keep you now as my primary dental service. They deserve all the positive reviews keep up the good work 🙂

A positive experience with this dentist. What should have been painful and awful (a #17 extraction, 4 days ago) really wasn't. I am recovering nicely.

TLDR: if you have dental anxiety this isn’t the place for you. I had cavities filled and now have severe sensitivity and almost constant pain in the areas she worked on. She works on multiple people at once frequently going back and forth between you and someone else and I wasn’t able to see her change her gloves. I have avoided the dentist for a few years due to bad experiences in the past and I’ve never had sensitive teeth or pain at all. When I came to my first appointment I informed everyone I interacted with about my fears. Dr. Carvajal made no effort to connect with me, she only spoke to the tech, she never asked about my history or why I decided to come in and before her tools were even out of my mouth she says someone will go over the prices with me and dips to work on another patient. Two weeks later I come in to get some cavities filled and a deep cleaning This is where my actual nightmare began: Dr. Carvajal comes directly from another patient to numb me while I’m trying to ask questions and remind her that I’m super nervous because I’ve never had a cavity before. It wasn’t until later that day when I had time to process everything that I realize I wasn’t even able to see her change her gloves, alarming because she was going back and forth between me and another patient multiple times! I barely ever got a response from her throughout the appointment, even though I had asked if she could explain or tell me what was coming next so I could anticipate what I would be experiencing. She never told me what she expected from me or how to communicate with her so when I was able to feel her drilling on a tooth I flinched and she barked at me not to move and then let me know to raise my hand if I could feel anything. I raised my hand several times after that and each time was ignored she would just say she was almost done or hold on. At one point I had to move her and the tech off of me because I was having a full blown panic attack. I told her I needed a minute to collect myself and she was visibly annoyed. I completely understand that she needed to see other patients so I braced myself and we continued. At this point I’m crying, I can’t breathe through my nose, I’m in pain, my entire body is shaking, and I’m being scolded. I never received any type of compassion from Dr. Carvajal, she never asked if I was okay, in fact the more upset I became the more annoyed she got. Towards the last half of the appointment she was tossing her instruments onto my chest and they were rolling onto my neck. When we were finished she put a tissue on my stomach and told me I should have just imagined that I was somewhere else. I left the office sobbing and sat in my car for 20 mins trying to calm down before I was able to drive. It’s been about a month and I have such bad pain and sensitivity on the side she worked on. Cold air hurts my teeth, my bite is now weird which is causing my back teeth to touch whenever I chew to the point that at the end of the day my teeth are throbbing which gives me a headache and makes it super difficult to fall asleep, I’ve also lost weight because I’m eating less in an attempt to avoid chewing and smacking my teeth together. I came in without any complaints just looking to get a check up and routine work done and left with sensitive teeth, throbbing tooth pain, and a reinforced fear of the dentist.

Dr. Carbajal is a super nice doctor, her clinic is filled with nice workers as well. Always friendly and cares about her patients. I’ve had a good amount of dental work done and when administering numbing shots she is the best. Definitely recommend her clinic 🙂

Dr Carbajal has been my family's dentist for well over 15 years. My husband had a root canal and two caps applied while me and the kids have had fillings, cleanings and cosmetic procedures done flawlessly. Friendly staff and the prices are fair. A++
