West Main Dental

I went twice - both times, I did not get seen until waaay past my appointment time. On the second occasion, I had an 11:00. I had to sit in the waiting room until 11:30 before getting taken to the exam room. At that point, I was told "the dentist will be with you shortly." I then sat in the exam chair until 12:15! Nobody came to check on me, nor tell me of any delays. Meanwhile I could hear patients out in the waiting room, checking in for 12:30. I honestly thought I had been forgotten. So I got up, with my bib on, searching up and down the hallway for any employees. I was then told by the dentist herself that another patient's procedure had "gone over time". By an hour and a quarter?? And the same thing happened the previous time I came. I pointed this out to her, and the dentist told me that "sometimes" this happens, and if I want to be sure of an exact appointment time, I should come first thing in the morning. Whaaat?? I am in my forties and have seen a number of dentists in my life; none have ever operated this way. And even if there were some truly unexpected delay, why wouldn't someone TELL me? Instead I was kept waiting alone in an exam room. I am disabled by chronic illness and it is not easy for me to get around. Yet I make the effort to come to the appointment, respectful of the dentist's time, but she cannot show equal respect for mine. Then I looked up this practice online and found that many, many patients experienced the same bad service that I did. They all echoed the same long wait times, despite having had set appointments. And then it dawned on me...the few patients who were happy with the practice all reported having been walk-ins without an appointment, who were told to come right in. You do the math...

I haven’t been to the dentist in years smh I know but these people here have great customer service all the time literally from from explaining everything to answering questions just a lovely atmosphere

made me wait for an hour after my appointment time to not even do my root canal i needed because she said " come back next week" for no reason at all , when could have done the root canal the day i was scheduled too have it done

I would not recommend West Main Dental based on my experience. I went there for many years, trusting them with my dental care, but they consistently failed to provide a thorough exam. My visits consisted of nothing more than a quick plaque removal—no gum health check, no proper oral exam, nothing beyond the bare minimum. After switching to New Britain Dental Arts, I was immediately informed that I have gum disease—something West Main Dental never mentioned or addressed. This was shocking because regular check-ups should include gum health assessments, and if they had been doing their job properly, I would have known about this much sooner. On top of that, I started to question their integrity when I was repeatedly told I had cavities that needed fillings. Given their lack of thoroughness in other areas, I now believe they were inflating treatment needs just to bill my insurance. After so many years of trusting them, I feel completely misled. If you’re looking for a dentist who actually cares about your health instead of just making money, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. New Britain Dental Arts gave me the care and honesty I should have been receiving all along.
